i waz just on bf2tracker.com forums and Woldier made a topic abouut BF2 and he mentioned (cant spell lol) about customizing your soldier
now i think that would be an awsome feature in BF2
what do you guys think?
That was being shown in previews for this game, i remember seeing videos about it, which obviously arent around anymore, also does anyone remember the hovercraft that was supposed to be in the game?
eh, this isnt city of heroes or the sims...although in response to xtrstangx, anyone notice that the only black players in the games are the ones in the "heavy" soldiers category? no spec ops or medics or snipers unless u pick up a dead guy's kit. are dice saying blacks are only good for heavy lifting and cant do specialized work? or am i being overly critical.
I loved how the game Soldner did it. Too bad the game was buggy as a game could be.
I think custom appearances would be a great addition to the game. In fact, I would be willing to give up alot of BF2's snazzy effects for that feature (most players don't play on all High anyway right?)
Having a bunch skins, helmets, etc to choose from could also add a tactical element to the game. Some cool uses for it:
- If you're wearing a Ghillie Suit, you're concealed by very slow (the suits are heavy).
- If you wear a backpack, you get a choice of stuffing it with medic supplies or extra ammo. You will also run slower as a result since the pack is heavy.
- You can wear a parachute on your back but it's only one-time use and you can't wear anything else on your back.
- You can strip out your ammo loadout, your vest, etc and just save a few clips. That way you're much more agile but much more vulnerable.
- You can wear a radio set on your back and that will give you the ability to spot enemies and call in arty strikes for example.
Sniping, for instance, is way too easy. How hard would it be to make it a little more realistic? For example, a sniper would have multiple zoom levels and would have to adjust for range and wind. You could have an indicator that shows the wind strength, to which you'd hae to adjust the scope and the scope itself could have little range notches so you would have to estimate if the target is 20 meters away or 100 meters away.
Shooting while moving should be extremely innacurate. There shouldn't be a pause when you crouch or go prone, but there should be a few seconds where your aim goes completely crazy so you have to adjust (imagine dropping to the ground).
Dice needs to make it so that you can choose whether you're black or white in the log-in menu. To take it even further, why not mix it up with some Chinese, MEC, and Mexican face skins included? The US of A IS a melting pot you know...

No man you;re right, its like the south park film- the black soldiers are cannon fodder!
spetznaz i agree with u on all of that, but it would make it too hard for the noobies, which is who DICE listens too, so it would never be implemented.
JO did a very good job of letting people choose there loadouts. You pick a certain class which allowed a variety of weapons and ammo. You could take the max amount of grenades/ammo if you wanted or take less to lighten the weight. The more you weighed the slower you could run around the map. A lot of choices with camo styles and uniforms also.
