Map Loading

When Selecting a server from the server list the map loads ok,but when it then goes to veryfying client data the game takes ages before I can actually enter the game.Sometimes so long that when I enter everyone else on the server has clocked up a decent score,also sometimes punkbuster kicks me cos I been waiting for so long to get in.
Is this normal.....I got a good spec pc and 2meg connection and this is driving me up the wall.

Defrag your hard drive.

this is a normal issue... i suggest u go to servers that are linux... they dont run the verifying thing, sometimes... before u go in to a server look to the left. sometimes there is a grey bar, a pinguin or a 64 icon.
grey will run verifying.
pinguin and 64 will not, for me it is a little faster but try...

Since 1.3 (and I believe 1.21) Linux servers do indeed verify.

Go to Punkbuster.com and get the application that will allow you to manually update your punk. This may help. Defragging is also a good thing to do as indicated.

Upgrading your RAM also helps.

yes fast ram and a fast HD will decrease you loading time by a lot.
