Since I've been ground pounding lately, this is good news. Maybe I'll finally be able to get that G36E :)

1 question tho, do you have to unlock all the first tier unlocks before you can unlock a 2nd tier one?

No. I unlocked the 1st tier sniper rifle then immediately unlocked the next.

yea but unlocking it without the game EA will bust ur account for copywrite, your using things that are you have not bought

If that were the case then Internet cafes and game centers wouldn't run BF2 at all.

No they won't. Probably thousands of people have already done this; I believe EA has even stated somewhere that it was OK. I haven't heard from a single person that EA has "busted" them for doing this. The weapons are in the patches and you can use them if you pick them up from dead soldiers so you're just using what EA gave you for free already.

Thanks guys, I get the point. Chose the G-3 instead, so I'll be doing some infantry now...
The maps in SF any good, or is the only reason to buy it the extra weapon-unlocks?

Don't buy SF, Find someone you trust and let them go on your account for 20 minutes and then you get all the unlocks without paying

no you dont...

Correct; it's all about your account, not what's installed on your computer. If your account says you've played SF for a minute or so then you should be able to unlock the 2nd tier unlocks. The only exception would be if you are running a very old BF2 patch that doesn't include the weapons (in which case I expect they wouldn't show up in your BFHQ).

You dont have to buy SF, if u have a friend that owns it just play a few rounds with ur account on his SF and u will get the unlocks for the Sniper, F2000 and the P90

No, I've only got BF2, not SF or anything else. But in BFHQ, the rifle is in the list. So you would expect it to be upgradeble.

PS: I've also already upgradeted spec-ops and medic, can't do an extra update on them either. Though again the list in BFHQ says that there is an update... But when the pop-up screen apears, they aren't available as an update.

That is the answer. You need to have or play SF on your account for the next level of unlocks.

you don't have to buy it

just find someone you trust and have them login as you and then join an SF server and get a point (doing anything)

i did it for a co-worker. just logged in as them - joined an SF server and killed a dude (then died twice - tee hee).

after a couple of hours he was able to see the new unlocks.

you have to buy SF to get the sniper and the p90 for anti-tank, they were forgotten about in SF and later added to SF owners as vanilla unlocks only
