    Sound problem

Is anyone experiencing an annoying screeching of their speakers when the enter a game? It's very loud and incredibly obvious.

I recently installed a Logitch Extreme 3D Pro joystick and after that my speakers started screeching for about 3 seconds at the beginning or during the loading of any game I enter.

Uninstalling the Joystick and clearing temp files/cleaning registry/resetting BF2's profiles didn't fix the problem.

    Any suggestions?

I'm getting this problem as well. It's the same problem that occured right after 1.03 was released.

I remember having this problem before months ago and then it just went away.....

What are EA doing now to the game?

I get it occasionally, i dont think its hardware related, just one of those things the game does to entertain you.

            Re: Sound problem

This sounds like the same thing that happened in America's Army a month or so ago. It isn't happening for everyone, but I have seen lots of reports on both the official and AAOTracker forums about it. Turns out what caused it was a PB update from late May (and still hasn't been fixed).

One way to determine if the sound issue you are having is to find and join an non-PB enabled server and see if it still happens. If it doesn't, then you will know that it is PB that is causing it.

I have that exact same problem. It just started yesterday for me ... I also have the Audigy 2ZS. I noticed it happens mostly on the Gulf of Oman map

Sad part is that if it is/was caused by the last PB update, don't hold your breath waiting for them to fix it. It has been going on for almost two months now in AA and still hasn't been fixed. I have even seen mention of another game that had the same problem (wish I could remember where I saw it, and which game), and it took eight months for PB to fix it.

Another of my friends said it just started happening to them yesterday (just like me). Something drastically changed between the day before yesterday and yesterday that makes this unbearable result.

                        Way to roll back punkbuster?

well good news. I sent a ticket to evenbalance and in an hour a guy contacted me. I'm not home but he gave me a small program for PCI scanning that he made I persume. He seemd pretty interested in what the problem was etc. I will run it when I get home and send him the results of his test.

Don't know if it will help any in BF2, but another person I know with the problem in AA tried it, and while it didn't completely fix it, it made the game playable at least.
