BF2 Crashes To Desktop, Also another lil prob.

Ok guys I installed BF2, i havent loaded the patch yet, but when i open the game up it hits a black screen then crashes even before i get to the sign in page. The game use to work, but i had to re-format and now it doesnt work. I noticed that i install to EA games folder, then afterwards theres always a folder in My Documents called BF2 that has the .exe files but also the BF2 folder in my EA Games folder, whats up? What do i need to do to fix this?

hmm, corrupt installation? did you do a simple upgrade format, not a full format that lets you reformat you hard disk too? seems like your old bf2 is still in your drive.

yeah it wasnt a full format, but, i've removed BF2 from my add or remove programs, and windows explorer. so where else would there be files?

erm, registry? try getting a registry cleaner

3 things, should i reinstall after doing the registry cleaner. and also, would i need to dl the 1.3 patch before i can even open BF2, cuz i havent dl'ed it yet, but my BF2 still crashes. where can i get a free registry cleaner, i googled it and once u download em, they scan but then u have to pay to actually delete them lol.
