    Oh dear 2*6800Le in SLI

Ok not being that much of a Tech head i would like know if my SLI configuration could be upgraded for something a little better .

I have 2 NVIDIA 6800LE running in SLI and although things are fine im sure i can get more from either 1 better GPU or a different 2 GPU's

How much better does it get if i have around £300 or around $500 to spend ?

Oh plus the sale of my 2 6800LE 's

Indeed. There is no point on spending £300 on a better GFX car if the rest of your system cannot keep up! As for which one you could buy for that money, I'd say try and get hold of two 7800 GTX's or one 7900 GTX 512. EBay is your friend for second hand kit

Not sure on Radeon cards before I get flamed - I only know NVidia stuff.

Are you sure your RAM is running in DDR? I might be wrong, but I was sure that in order to maintain DDR you must use RAM of the same make etc. Doesn't matter as I'd change the RAM. Good RAM is paramount to system performance. Having bad RAM is like owning a Ferrari and putting in water instead petrol. Have a look for some Corsair TwinX, preferably 2 GB - you will be amazed at the difference.

As for the rest of your rig, it's more then good enough for BF2.

If you can afford it the then NVidia 7950 GTX or the ATI X1900XT are the current GPU daddy's. The 7950 just edges ahead of the ATI card.

          7950 on E-Bay - Clicky

          X1900XTX on E Bay- Clicky

The 7900 GTX 512 is still over £300 so I'd try and get two 7800's. I got both of mine second hand from E Bay for less the £320 for the pair. Considering that you should change your RAM then I'd get one 7800 GTX (XFX make the best ones) and 2 GB Corsair TwinX. Ref the RAM, unless your really into overclocking then don't bother with anything above PC3200 as you'll not notice any difference for the price you pay.

          Hope this helps.

Remove the 512 MB sticks and benchmark it before and after. Go with the best benchmark. You may be surprised to find out that the 512 sticks may be doing more harm than good.

Yes mate that's a nice card. As for your RAM and how good it is, take no note of the 3D Mark Benchmark mate as it's only tests the raw power of the graphical sub system and a CPU load test. In order to do a proper memory benchmark try downloading Everest diagnostics. I did before and after runs when I upgraded my RAM and it made no noticable difference on 3D Mark. It's everywhere else I notice the difference ie in game, video editing, booting up etc.

If you want to compare your benchmark scores to mine to give you an idea of how your RAM is doing then I'll benchmark mine and show my results.

For referance I'm getting 5790 on 3D Mark 06 and I've only got an AMD 64 3700+. My two GFX cards rule!

In the game my feamerate never drops below 60 FPS which is brilliant if you ask me. Everything is set on full and the resolution is at 1280*1024 @ 75Hz.

Trust me though, change that RAM. It will hinder your PC if you get a nice GFX card.

Bloodsport , what GPU cards and RAM are you running , i will now run Everest and post the findings .

Oh poo thats no good i have to buy the program now http://www.lavalys.com/ no freebies .

                              I have this exact Ram , http://www.mushkin.com/doc/products/...ail.asp?id=184 I have 2 1gb Sticks

Although not Corsair or OCZ i would have thought it was good enough as i am not to much onto overclocking .
