    Need some video help ...

I just put my own rig together... AMD 4400+ X2 Dual Core, 2G RAM, and the BFG GeForce 7900 GTX OC video card (512 MB).

I noticed that once I am playing BF2 for about 20 min. or so, either in regular or commander mode, I an getting tracers on the screen. Bullets draw a line on the screen (like The Matrix). Supply and vehicle drops look like they have a rope attached ... These lines will attach themselves to vehicles and people and follow them around as well. No rhyme or reason for it.

    See these pics:

I thought it might be heat related since it takes 20-30 min. to start once I begin playing BF2... But I have so much air blowing through the PC, and the video card is cool to the touch. I am using the latest nVidia driver.

Does NOT happen with any other app or Windows, etc... I deleted BF2 cache, and let it recreate shaders, etc.

Any ideas?? It looks MUCH worse when actually playing the game (as opposed to Commander mode). The attached pics are from commander mode.

Artifacting, download and run this program for 10~15 minutes.

Then report back your GPU temp.

I ran it for an hour ... never got above 62 degrees C (143.6F) which is well within spec. Idle temp (just sitting in Windows) is 48 degrees C (118.4F)

Everything I can tell about my card and the temp says that the "slowdown threshold" is 110C (230F), but NEVER reaches anything close.

Yeah ... I called BFG and got a RMA number. I'll be sending it back this week. Thanks to everyone for the help.
