Special Forces Help Needed

Hey everybody,

I have just installed and updated to the latest patch a Special forces, when i try logging on to a server the message comes up and say's that my key is invalid. How can this be, the key is straight from the back of the manual, i was wondering if this was a common problem and if it can be fixed. or have i just waisted $30

Where did you buy your copy of SF? If you got it on ebay or used, could be that you got burned. It happens. If you have a new retail copy install in this order:

BF2>SF>EF>AF>Full 1.3

If you are going to try the 1.4b (beta patch)
Make a copy of your entire BF2 forlder: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2
Then paste it to your desktop and apply the beta patch the the existing folder at the above location. When you get tied of playing the beta, swap it out for the folder on your desktop.

i have purchased it new from a shop. so i don't know what the problem is.

maybe the cd is scratched or something... or sometimes there is idiots that goes to stores and steal cd keys... go and talk with the store u bought it from

There should be a way to reinput the key. Try uninstalling SF and reinstalling it. The first warning screen comes up when you are registering it with EA and at that point you should be able to enter in the key from the back of the manual.

The answer

First off just double check your key in both folder(BF2 AND SPEC FORCES) Go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Support click on battlefield 2 _ code and retype in your key for bf2 then goto C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\SupportXP1 and go to the Battlefield 2 Special Forces_code and retype in your cd key there...... if this does not work it can be one of 4 things .......1.your key was generated and being played buy someone else(if it is this contact EA)....2. your didnt repatch with the 1.3 patch after you installed bf2sf which i would dl the full patch not the incremental and repatch......3.your original bf2 is pirated......4. you may need to reinstall bf2 completely that means uninstall it and reinstall it .... I have had this prob before try all of these solutions before you uninstall

This has happened to me when I tried to play BF2 from a different account than I installed it on. (I would check this first so you may not have to reinstall)

I would say reinstall the whole thing.Better to be sure. I think it will work with a reinstall.
