    Pilot Help

I having been flying airplanes in BF2 for a while but for some reason I cannot get to the next level. I cannot get past a 3.65 k/d ratio. I always get shot down especially with that dang F-35. I see all these other people with 20:1 k/d ratio and I wonder how do they get that. Could some one please help me on tips how to get someone off my tail and avoid the missiles especially with the F-35 and how they get a good K/D ratio. Any please help me? I just cant figure out how they do that and not get shot down. HELP??

    Re: Pilot Help

They call the 35 a flying coffin for that reason. I managed to unload the rockets on a J10, reload, get behind him again, unload again and for all that I got two hits.

When I'm in the J10 I use the rockets one at a time because they always hit, even through the 35's flares which is ultra-lame.

The good news is no-one flys 35's because of that and you can get some in-game experience because they are usually available. The 35 is bad for KDR tho'. If you a want good KDR, only fly the J10. But then that would be KDR padding. lol.

I dont care about the K/D. How before you get angry hear me out...

I might be sneaking about the field with bombs on road rage and nail 20 people and die once the whole round (DANG TREE!)

Some maps I might get 10 feet from a carrier and get into a cross strafe from two J10's and a bone headed tard coming at me with a loaded blackhawk with the intent to stick me with 7 Teamkills + whoever is on the deck below.

Days like that makes me seriously consider going back to JO.

It all averages out in the end. Dont worry so much about that K/D. Yer only stressing yourself where it hurts.

            eh I don't have a bad ratio, and I fly JSF's only.

            12.39 w/ 22,148 kills

              Re: Pilot Help

but the f35 is stealth, and it has some of the sharpest turns any pilot has seen soo why is it that in the game the f35 is getting owned? shouldn't it be the other way around??

                Re: Pilot Help

Stealth means nothing. Turn rate means nothing. The J10 WILL OWN the F35. The Mig 29 also owns the F35.

The F35 is a thinking pilot's plane. He or she needs to kinda pick low hanging fruit and kill nooblets who are not as agressive or able to handle the mental demands of simple turning in a arcade game.

lol dont listen to n00bs like this. Just keep practicing, have a good joystick and be smart. Its a vehicle that you have to keep thinking every second. Your brain is like a cpu, and you have to start thinking more each clock cycle.

If you are confused at this point, I am too

As for the F35, its great against anything not named J10, though if you practice enough you can compete against them.

Its funny seeing posts like this that reinforce its not so easy to fly as the jealous ones want you to believe.

Once you know what you are doing, you too can get a 200:1 Kill/death ratio

                    Re: Pilot Help

About a week ago I was flying this F35 when a J10 was constantly getting really close on my tail and nailed me with AA about 5x.
I then proceeded to spawn as specops, and packed my F35 with C4. I take off, and this guy is already behind me since he was coming in low from the carrier's 12. I immediately switch to front view so that I can see him as he's coming closer from behind. I already had the beep, and red flashing all over. I'm hit by one missile and I decide to bail... with the detonator in my hand [...] I look up and press the button before the detonator disappears. And BOOOM; AlphaNut[C4]J10Carrierrapist
I failed miserably in taking a screenshot of this:cry:

                        Re: Pilot Help

Good thread so far. One thing to add is when flying the F35 you have to get to know your opponent.

Some J10 pilots are just not very good, easy to avoid and cannot bomb very well so are not a great threat to the team. In this case I can pretty much ignore them and just be mindful of where they are so as not to present an easy kill. I will focus on taking out any vehicle that is approaching our flags.

Some J10 pilots just hunt F35s and rape the carrier and not much else. If that is the case I have to find them first and take them out before anything else. A good tactic is to fly high over the artillery island, back and forth and wait for them to come in for a rape run. I swoop down behind them in missile mode. They think the lock is from the Essex and ignore you behind them then SUPRISE!

Some are very good pilots and almost impossible to take out even if you do get right behind them and very hard to shake. In this case if they get on my tail I just head for the stratosphere and use my flairs to get me up there. If your lucky they go out of bounds and you do not. Then do not let the J10 get back in the air. One thing you have going for you is the higher level of asshatery that goes on with PLA folks trying to get the jet. If you can get a good pilot down, it is not that hard to keep them down if you try hard.

As has been stated the F35 can be an effective weapon if used by a skilled pilot. I personally have a great deal of respect for a pilot that chooses to fly the F35 and not the J10 because it is more of a challenge. The J10 is a n00b stat padding jet galor. I have zero respect for a J10 pilot that just rapes the non caps, shoots down inferior jets and then brags about it. It makes my day to put them in their place. It's what I play for! LOL.

                          Re: Pilot Help

For a start the f-35 is not worthless but it does take real skills to use unlike the j10 which any noob piolit (I count myself in this demographic) can use. To fight them you need to rely on the superior speed of the f-35 dont drop below 350 feet untill you find your target (make sure you have bombs armed) then drop in behind the J10 with guns blazing quickly swap to missiles and fire everything you have dont even wait for a complete lock just pray that some of the missiles will hit. If this doesnt take the J10 down dont stay at its level head skyward again the time the f35 is low is the time that it is vunerable. This last part is very important often times the piolit of the f35 enraged at the whole unfairness of how these dam* J10's are just impossible to deystroy will try and stay on the enemy plane (this almost never ends well) the J10 escapes 95% of the time and then goes after you, and it isnt hard for a J10 to take down an f-35.
