How Important is Sound System

Hi forumners,

i'm planning to upgrade the sound on my computer, since i currently use onboard sound, and i was just wondering whether getting a new sound card will actually help me hear gunfire/footsteps/vehicles better in bf2? I only have a 2 speaker system so keep this in mind. if not a new sound card, will new speakers help? i use like 5 year old altec lanseing speakers. thanks!

i would actually go for really good headphones. in my experience, ive heard more stuff with headphones and if theres like ppl around ur house talking u wont hear them. plus headphones usually come with a mic which is useful for communication

I have a nice 5.1 logitech surround sound for my gaming needs.. but Conscript Virus has a point, you really can't beat a nice pair oh headphones
