    BT Voyager 205 & BF2 connection problems :(((

    Hi there,

I have the BT Voyager 205 router/modem and purchased BF2 today (patched to latest version).

But i have problems connecting to the account server and I have to reboot my system because I cant force quit the game.
1 out of 10 tries I will eventually get into the account server, but then I can only join one or two games, the rest say "connection refused".
I forwarded as many ports as I could that are in the back of the manual but the voyager only lets you forward about 25 ports.... and even still, there would be about 2000+ ports needing forwarded which would be ridiculous to manually enter the details.

Im just wondering how people have conqured any connection problems with the Voyager 205?

The demo of bf2 never gave me any problems at all, but the retail game is really struggling for connectivity (((((

any help would be very very very appreciated.

    thanks in advance

Have you tried looking here, they cover most makes of router, and nearly all games and apps..

      Hope this helps...

Open ports on your router with our port forwarding guides. We have guides specific to your router.

      sorry forgot the link LOL

^^ Yea thats what i've been trying to do, ( i know how to open the ports ) but the amount of ports the bf manual and the sticky on this board says you have to forward is alot more than the 25 that the voyager 205 will allow.

          eg:

          Client Ports:

          UDP 27900
          UDP/TCP 29900
          TCP 80
          TCP 4711
          TCP 29901
UDP 1500-4999 < thats over 2000 ports alone

          UDP/TCP 1024-1124 < another 100
          UDP 28910
          UDP 16567
          UDP 55123-55125

Could you pls tell me the exact port numbers and protocols of the ports you've forwared in the voyager 205 because the ports above are wayy to much to manually configure.

also i tried the link from eagle and followed the commands but it still hangs when connecting to the account server.

          thx

              Hi all,

yea the link RA 1972 sent me is also the same one I came across earlier.

it showed me how to forward port ranges with the voyager 205 (never thought it let you forward ranges)

anywya bf seems to be pretty stable now connectivity wise (just takes a while to connect the account server), but teh game servers play fine.

thx to all that helped me... here is the link for info on port range forwarding if anyone needs it

configure port forwarding for the BT Voyager (or any other Viking chipset based router/modem) setup NAT rules to allow p2p traffic/incoming connexions
