This Game Is Un-playable

I have been playing since this game came out over a year now and let me tell you it will be the last time I buy any battlefield series games .

I played last night (tried to play ) for 4 hours and everytime I joined a server it would either crash or boot me out after 10 minutes for having a high ping . Problem is it takes forever to find a server since the server browser is screwd and it seems to show all the servers at a high ping . I am seeing pings when I update the server list as LOW as 150 and thats just crazy . Sometimes I will find servers as low as 62 ping and get all excited and join it ....loads ......crash . Im soooo ****ing sick of waiting an hour or two to get one good round going . This game is unplayable and I hate it more than I like it at this point . Waste of time to even boot it up .


Is everyone else having ping issues lately and trying to locate low ping servers ? I know about the ctd's so no need to start a ctd issue again .

If that were the case with even a small, yet significant number of people, then EA would be out of business... Could be the patch, could be something on your end. It works for most people. Have you tested your line for packet loss? Checked for virus/spyware? The game is not un-playable. There is something else going on.

The ping times in the in-game browser are going to be high by default. It sux.. Usually anything under 150ms shown in the browser will be fine.

yes i have same problem but when i click the server name the ping drops to normal ping it should be its weird but i do not find it much of a problem just clik on the server name to higlight then it should drop the ping to what it really is but ea need to sort it out

make sure you dont have anything running in the background/downloading etc before you log in as this increases ping rate.

Go to processes in task manager and check in there in case anything is running in the background

Me too...i always get kick for high pings...there is little servers for me to play now since all these patches...gggrrr

I like when the browser says 0 ping, and I join the server, and it kicks me for a high average ping. Thanks for the wasted 5 minutes. :cry:

I do not need to check anything on my end . I have been playing since it came out and I know what im doing . All files and patches are clean . I have really good spyware and virus protection and as far as running processes while playing , I dont run anything when im playing except the game .

Bottom line is When the game came out up until six months ago it was great . It ran fine . Now it is unplayable due to LAG , FPS , CTD .

Just so you know , I run medium settings and have a fat rig .
3.2gz HT Intel
6800 PNY Video card
2 gig dual channel kingston ram

Sometimes when I am getting relatively high pings. a simple power cycle of my router drops my pings a good bit.

I dont have the unplayable problem but I do have the crazy heat from the GPU prob...

If the browser says 0 ping I'd take that as a clue that there's something wrong with the server. I don't get that low of a ping on my LAN.

Yeah, the game is definitely quite unplayable nowadays. Most of the patches are just bugs, not patches. IMO the whole BF2 game engine is quite full of ****. It just seems to be so unfinished and not so advanced unlike for example F.E.A.R.'s or Half-Life2's engines. Those game engines include 100 times better graphics and physics than BF2 and they are very stable. I can get much better fps with those games than with the buggy BF2. I just can't describe how much I hate DICE and their amateur employees.

One problem they are not 64 player online battles....The maps for those games a like 1/164th the size of a BF2 16 player... Even in single player only a small portion of the game is loaded at once....

You can not compare....

Granted yes they are more stable...but people still have issues with them...A lot of issues with computer applications tend to be user side....

i just reformated because my bf2 was crashing every time i clicked the icon i even reinstalled it 3 times... but it works now :)
