    Insane Ping Problem

My friend and I want to play Battlefield 2 with eachother but it's hard because he gets a crazy ping problem. He has a Geforce 6800GT, Pentium 4 3.2 ghz (Something like that, I'm an AMD Person myself), 1024 PC3200 DDR RAM. And this mainly occurs when we are both in the same Teamspeak2 Server (which is hosted by I). I just left the server and he claims the game runs perfectly after I left. Basically, when we're ingame together and when we're both on TS he gets connection issues and the Teamspeak server lags to the point to where we cannot hear eachother due to incoherent cutting-out problems.

It really makes no sense. Does anyone know what to do?

EDIT - Also, he has high-speed DSL and we can play any other existing PC online game with zero problems. It's just BF2.

Has he tried updating punkbuster and disabling any and all software firewalls?

He could also try either port forwarding or upgrading his router's firmware.

i've heard and confirmed that having teamspeak on while playing bf2 raises your ping and can cause it to go crazy with spikes etc. try turn off teamspeak. its perhaps becos teamspeak uses alot of bandwidth.
