Does it reallty matter if they're ranked or not? You are supposed to be beta testing the patch. For what it's worth I have received a gold star and points since beta testing....

Well kinda. DiCE said that weren't and they shouldn't be and want to know about them. People are supposed to be playing the 1.4 patch for testing purposes but if people know that points will be recorded that 1.4 beta will probably become 1.4 Full when everyone installs it :)
Also any exploits caused by 1.4 beta shouldn't be used to rank up.
I know what you mean though. I couldn't care about points no matter what version of BF2 I'm running.

theres an error with it straight away as its giving them points on an unranked server.

Some of the beta servers are indeed ranked. Just take a look at this thread on the EA forums.
"There are some ranked servers to make sure that the ranking system works as intended with the new patch. That does not mean abuse and stat padding is tolerated though, just like with non-beta patches.
Incidentally, for those who haven't heard we'll be ramping up the number of 1.4 beta servers in the next few days."

how the heck did you guys not come up with a patch sooner? A hotfix for 1.3 for the server crashes? At the VERY least a patch for that. 1.4 better be a hell of a patch. but I seriously doubt it.
i felt bad for darkshot for like half a second untill I relized that I had my stats went up in a server just like the other people have had so i guess we are noobs then right darkshot....so damm dumb I pitty U
I have earned aprox 800points since 1.4 beta arrived, And i have only been playing on Multiplay Uk servers. that shows that they are ranked.
I have even got meself some gold/silver/bronze medals.
Im not complaining but still it might be a way to get the "betatesters" to really play the beta. Some people dont play if they arent able to gain in ranking and so on.
