Need help : v1.3 patch

Quite recently we had to reset my computer. So therefore we had to install BF2 again. Recently i have playing with no patches installed basically because i am unable to download them. The download will start and it will take a while to download - but, when it get to around 45% it seems to 'finish' the download very quickly. So, i double click on the patch to install, and it will start to 'load' when infact it is doing nothing. A few seconds later it will stop and seem like it doing nothing. :hmm: This really annoying because if i had the patch i probably would have when up a couple of ranks :p lol :laugh:
I have also tryed to 'tell' EA with their help center thing but that didnt work at all. I'll try it again then i will tell you what happens

the problem could be where you're downloading from, theres a list of full client 1.3 files, they should help you out

When I doubleclick the patch-icon it takes a while for it to show up, otherwise it works good.

I had the same problem, the cure for me was to defrag my hard drive, worked great after this, from never being able to install to always

Use diskeeper its the best, the best time to do it is after you download the file, if it still doesnt work after, start the installer, go to to temp dir and copy the files its installing, it will have a weird name but will be around 490mb, copy that dir and then defrag and try again.

i think alot of the failures are to do with fragments in files. it worked for
