Yeah... well even still.... why would it show the ranks IN-GAME, AND... have that ranked symbol in the browser... AND... why did it affect my stats?

Mine went up as well... we were in the server at the same time, so I doubt it was coincidence. If anything it was an oversight by making the unlocks available to the un-ranked servers, it somehow made all unranked servers "ranked"...

That'd be a kick in the ass.

Its not ranked, its a beta, betas arnt ranked. common sense.

Still find it interesting that my stats have changed and the only BF2 i've played since this last weekend is the 1.4 beta. If it's not ranked, why are my official stats going up?

Unranked servers have the option to read from the ranking servers to display everyones rank and retrieve there unlocks. This was taken away in 1.3 however was brought back in 1.4

The thing i'm more interested in is the server crashes were only happening on ranked servers not unranked, so why are we not testing ranked servers ?

in 1.4 all unlocks are allowed in unranked servers

To me they look very ranked.


From my pov most other patches we got so far were betas too, with the difference that at that time we just weren't told so
So where's the difference?

What I wanted to ask was if we install the 1.4 beta patch can we still play 1.3 without them interfering or having to uninstall reinstall each time.

Come on guys this is not that hard.
Have you read the README.TXT?

What I do is I have two folders for BF2 one is called Battlefield 2, and is used for 1.4. The other one is called Battlefield 2_1_3, and is used for 1.3. (Battlefield 2_1_3 is the copy of the old Battlefield 2 v1.3 folder)
They both work.
I even have a shortcut for each version of BF2 on the desktop.
Needs just a little bit of common sense.
