EA wants you to baserape

I never fly so I am not very good at it. I took people's advice and practiced on OCS single player to avoid disrupting unranked servers with my crashing into trees. I found that if you are just practicing bombing it is easiest to play MEC, fly over the american base and steal their jet...that way you don't have to worry about AA or the F-15.

Anyways, I was flying in the jet as the "gunner" and I noticed that the bot jet pilot was doing strafing runs over the US untakable flag. He (it?) was also lining me up for missile shots on APCs and whatnot at that base.

So, to all of you who say that base-raping is cheating, I guess EA has already made their decision about it by coding it into the game. Now I don't know if EA WANTS us to base-rape, but I thought the title was catchy

there is nothing wrong with attacking the enemy at their base, in fact i enjoy it very much.

Who cares really. Play on City maps or Karkand/Mashtuur if you don't want to be base raped by jets or helis. It's allowed in the game it just depends if the server your playing on, if the owner allows it or not. Some say war is hell. Others impose many rules.

I actually really enjoy base-raping. But if the admins tell me I cannot, or it specifically says I cannot in the server rules I won't do it. No point in getting banned for no reason. Most admins will warn you, but if they are jerks, I just don't play there again. There are more important rules they could be enforcing, like TKing for vehicles. personally I think that anyone waiting on an airfield with the M95 should be shot on sight. I cannot think of a good reason to have that gun while waiting for a jet/chopper unless it is to TK another pilot.

Most servers I play on allow it base-raping, or at least allow it if all other bases are taken. Then it's almost like a reward. "Hey, we got all of the bases, it's time to BASE-RAPE."

I sometimes wait at the airfield with the m-95.. then i get in a chopper ,and bail out over a roof or high terrain or wherever i want to snipe some ass.
Thats my reason for beeing there with a M-95 ..Baseraping is ALLOWED in war.. PEARL HARBOUR is a good example from the real world.. Just ask the Japanese.. :)

I have never base rapped....successfully. When I fly over a carrier (usually in a J-10) I have my missiles loaded and ready to take out a Heli or F-35. Whenever I bomb the base, there is no one ready to catch my high explosives. So, I just use missiles and wait for some unluckly sap.

I dont care about baseraping, your team looses, next round and so on, The oonly rune in War, both in Battlefield and in real war, is no teamkilling

Thanks for the advice. I was just practicing one thing at a time. Us old folks need to learn one thing before we can learn the next :p. Also, I have found the bot jet pilots too easy to shoot down. They can be tough to shake (for me at least) but once I get behind them they are too predictable if I follow this pattern:

1. Get behind them, get lock and they WILL drop flares.

2. Switch to bombs and wait for the flares to go away.

3. Switch back to missiles and fire 2 and only 2. They will hit the bot pilots EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

That method seems to work on humans too, but not as well. Most use that chase cam thingy, so they know I am still behind them and continue to try to shake me.

As for the rest of the replies...This is not an argument AGAINST base-raping; this is an argument FOR base-raping. The only time I am against base-raping is when the admins won't let you do it to them, but are more than willing to do it to you. To me, that is just cheesy.

so i kno im not suppose to base rape but i was playing a long round in the demo (2000 tickets each team) and we were down like 1000 tickets and i just took that jet and baseraped cuz i was fed up with how terrible my team was

And you have nearly 5000 points?

Press X to drop flares when there's a lock on signal. Beware that people switch to bombs to pursue you which won't activate your alarm!
