Cannot assign a control key

Hi all,

Just upgraded my machine and have upgraded from bf1942 DC to BF2 finally!

For some reason I cannot seem to assign a key in the controls menu:

I tried to assign the left shift to crouch but when i did this i got the warning that the key was assigned in vehicle. I removed the key assign from vehicle and then it said it was duplicated in aircraft. I unassigned the key in aricraft but then it says there is a duplicate key in helicopter but there is not!!

I have checked and checked (not that there is that many anyway) and i cannot find where in helicopter it is being used.

I have not patched yet to 1.3 so maybe that will solve the issue or maybe someone else has heard of this or can re-create it so I know I am not going mad :)

You'll have to manually edit your controls.con file found in My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\<Your Profile Number>\

It's a shame that we have to do any manual editing...but the reality is, they made some keys unbindable/unchangeable and they really haven't managed to fix it.

But by manually editing your controls.con file, you can achieve some pretty interesting bind combos.

Ok Talus... I can see another instructional thread detailing these
interesting bind combos!!
