leave the jets how they are an just live with it.
to many things have been nerf'd as it is.
its probly all teh changes that are makin the game unstabble due to many people complaining about different kits or vechiles in the game already.

Beef up the F35B, making its mesh the same size as the J-10s, and Wake becomes a whole helluva lot more balanced. The only reason China dominates Wake is because of how the J-10 can easily splash the F35s without really being in danger itself, and therefore the US will have no air support to escort its helis and boats. If the F35 was capable of shooting down J-10s (and I mean semi-competant J-10 pilots, not joe newbie), or the J-10 didn't take down the F35s so easily, the heli squads and ground/sea troops would actually stand a chance at being effective.

Otherwise the jets are fine IMO. If the enemy team has more superior pilots than your team then they should dominate the air and rightfully so. Unlike all other vehicles, jets cannot cap flags (F35 excluded, although trying to hovercap a flag in an F35 is suicide), nor can you spawn as an engineer and use them to make your tank column self-repair, nor can you quickly get out and revive a teammate, etc. They are good for clearing out air threats and ground vehicles, and if you take out their effectiveness to do that by making them too easy to destroy, they'd be pointless. Plus, teams only get, what, 2 jets max per side? As opposed to hordes of APCs, tanks, and AA vehicles? And to pilot one effectively takes practice, so it's not like someone new to the game can just get up in the air and be instantly dominating. It's truly one area of the game where skill actually matters and shows.

The complete dominance of aircraft is a bug; it certainly isn't what the game developers intended.

There is never complete balance because skill factor gets involved in just about every game. Aircraft, particularly jets, are supposed to be the best weapons in the game. Stingers/IGLA/Mobile AA have 99% hit ratio on any jet not named J10 caught without flares. A2A was a concern but from early reports of 1.4, unbalanced aircraft, namely J10, will now be brought back down to earth against opposing aircraft like the F35 :)

As for 2142, they do indeed seem to be nerfing not only aircraft (gunships are supposedly weak, jets are nowhere to be seen so far), but other vehicles like the tanks.

All I hope they fix in this next patch is:

1) The J-10
2) The bugs/glitches/exploits/crashes (I don't get any crashes that often anymore for some reason..)
3) Bunny hopping or whatever.. some people just go too far with it.
4) The hotel glitch (had to put this seperate from 2, even though it is a glitch/exploit)

Its up for grabs to the public. Catch is you cant play on ranked servers with the beta, so you make a copy of your Battlefield 2 folder then install and when you want to go back to 1.3 you rename your copied folder and use that instead. Its not complicated but its in the read me.

Damn it, two missles and you are dead? Looks like it is more like Patch 1.2 now...
You should be able to dodge them, put some skill back in. But atleast it is fixed. You could still take out J10s with the F35 missles in 1.3. It was just hard. I was hoping they wouldnt take that skill out.
