How should BF2 run on this rig?

I need for this subject: How should BF2 run on THIS PC?


I used to have...

AMD Athlon 2000+ ~1.7 GHz
1 GB DDR RAM
ASUS 6600 TD 128 MB
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS

With that rig, I got about 20 FPS solid on everything low except lighting and shadows, and looking around the map was a pain in the ass if I didn't want 1 FPS.



Now I have...

AMD Athlon 3700+
2 GB DDR RAM
ASUS 6600 TD 128 MB
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS

How should it run now, and under what settings?

i never heard of a 6600 td. is it better or worse then gt. if its better then gt u should get med to high. worse, then low. but it still should run great.

A bit higher FPS, 30 ish maybe in the 40s, because of the CPU and RAM upgrade, but that videocard needs to upgraded.

Should run medium to high now. Alot of people run everything maxed out with a 6600GT so it should be almost the same for you.

BF2 isn't as much bound to the CPU as it is to Memory and GPU. So the good thing is that you upgraded the Memory to 2Gb.
On 1024x768 you should be able to run it medium to high.

Hell yeah!

It's a great improvement, seeing as I used to play BF2 on all low (damn patches) except shadows. I wuv shadows.

I reformatted my PC about a month ago. With that bonus and the other bonus of defragmenting, I should be able to play it on all maxed out.


Just if EA releases a performance patch. :P
