    Lag

Is the game getting more laggier or is it me? I mean any server I go in now its like all laggy, my pings at 18-25 etc, and its all choppy, I stutter and freeze and the sound stutters. For example; Say on the carrier im approaching 1m from the edge, it freezes completly then 10 secs later im in the water? thats what it is like, it does even out after a while but its a pain in the neck, and its constant. So I died like 5 times in a row from it, I spawned then my game froze and 5 secs later im dead from someone bombing the carrier. Don't even bring up SF thats a disaster, I move in frames on SF. But yeah thats what its like playing BF2, moving in frames, by frames I mean like security cameras, the ones that show footage in frames piece by piece.

Lol, I can't. I don't have the Windows disc or any of the software drivers for the comp (damn you pc world)

Oh and to answer your question on the last time I formatted, over a year ago.

Then thats your problem, you need to either buy one, download one or steal one, well maybe not steal one but you really need to reformat!

The disc drive broke while running a disc? Maybe a tainted disc.

You mean defrag right? No need to format your entire hard drive.
Update your videcard drivers, readjust your processes and see if you can trim stuff down. Use clearmem.exe to free up some memory.

Ive been dealing with PC's long enough and know from experience that if you run the same copy of windows for over a year, alot of random and useless crap gets stored away and the only way to get it out is by doing a full reformat. But since you cant reformat, you need to defragment, disk clean up, update everything and delete old files that you dont useanymore.

Get a registery cleaner, some spyware/virus software, update windows, video driver update, and most important.......DEFRAG your hdd. All basic stuff, unless you have some serious issues, I would not reformat, but that's just me.

                        Re: Lag

I have no viruses, I don't have any P2P, I have no spyware or adware. The disc drive broke after the reformat, weird though. After the reformat was done and windows booted up the 1st disc drive always broke. I'll defrag, I usually always defrag like once a month, and I'll try this clear mem since I always only have like 700ish mb memory free.

                          Re: Lag

do you have problems right away in a game?
all these guys telling you to clean your HD etc are ALL WRONG
they have NOTHING to do with your problems
AFTER YOU GET INTO A GAME
(maybe the effect load times, etc)
now - MAYBE the defrag is a good idea
but to only have 700MB free on a 250 GB HD - throw some stuff out - or copy it to CD or buy an extra HD
                          they ARE cheap now
and you broke 4 HD on defrag???? really hard to believe - but again - not the issue now
are you sure you have no programs eating up your system resources?
run task manager and check the performance tab
it should be under 3% - look for spikes - if not low - then you have some male-ware running - if none - then
most likely culprit you have is system failure
first thought is HEAT - take your side panel OFF your computer
and get a $9 fan from walmart and set it right next to the open side and let it blow!
if this does not work - next step is new power supply
                          they DO fail

your system performance is way too bad
hmmm - what are your in game settings?
and what is your Internet connection
are you on a shred pipe and someone in doing gigs of downloads?
are you are wireless? = that would be a killer also

                              Re: Lag

This doesen´t sound as if it´s caused by BF2 game engine.
                              More of a system issue.
-Defrag HDD is no1 recommendation. I recommend O&O Defrag for this since it is imho much more efficient than Window´s default defrag. app.
-Run Spybot, and Adaware to get rid of malware/spyware.
-Go to RUN type "msconfig", go to the startup tab, and make sure nothing loads up that you don´t need to load at startup by unchecking the boxes.
-Uninstall then reinstall your video card drivers. Perhaps there is a new version out.
-Also make sure to keep your PC case clean by using some canned air, and blow it once in a while. This will ensure that all the fans operate as they should, and that enough airflow is given to keep the components from overheating.
