    how to install?

Yeah, I don't know how, laugh all you want.

I'm currently on my third install and it wont take.

I just finished a new computer and am loading up games like crazy, the one thing I remember is this, I click cancel when it asks if I want to install directx 9c, I already have that installed so why do I have to install it again?

So is not installing directx9c from the disc the problem of why it doesn't install the game?

    Thanks all.

btw I'm installing while I post this, I will install directx9c as the box comes up and see what happens.

    Re: how to install?

When it comes to the BF2 install, I just do everything it wants you too. I figure that I would rather install a few more things then have bugs forever.

      Re: how to install?

ok, now I'm hosed, I did the install like I did before except I installed directx9c (didn't install gamespy) and it asked me to reboot, I did and reboot got stuck just at the windows splash screen so I left it alone for 15 min and it's still stuck, did hard reset and same thing. Damn piece of crap.

Any advice? I have a backup pre-game image so I can have everything up and running in about 5-15 min but I also spent 6 hours loading up games, I don't want to go thru this all again and get stuck on this game and maybe blow all my work again. I might spend 1 hour trying repair instead first.

      Thanks for any advice.

      btw specs.

btw I've had Battlefield 2 for a while but it wouldn't work without upgrading, and this is the upgraded computer, all works well, went thru burn in fine, not overclocked, all temps are within range, all programs included games listed above works, my kids played yesterday at least 6 hours straight steam games like half life 2 so I don't think heat or components are the issue here.

btw, this is my main os on a multi boot system that I'm posting on, its the kids game boot os that is hosed.

Again thanks for any advice or information that can help.

Maybe I'll just restore and install Battlefield 2 first because the above listed games are only half of what is going to be installed.
