WANTED: ScreenShot of AIRCRAFT CONTROLS setup please

Can any EXPERT pilot please take a screen shot of his AIRCRAFT CONTROLS settings from his options screen plz. I haven't a clue what the good pilots have their PITCH/YAW and key binds set to. I've been trying to adjust them, but would like to see a SS of someone that is good too.

I fly with a JOYSTICK (logitech 3D Pro) and use the keyboard with my left hand.

First can you plz tell if your using joystick or mouse+keyboard combo ?

If you want to fly get a joystick. And a decent one at that. The it is quite straight forward. You'll have pitch, roll, and yaw mapped to the joystick handle part - those are your x, y and z axis. Throttle is your W and S. Then you map the button to what is comfortable for you. Trigger is Fire, you'll need an alt-Fire, Flares, AB, and weapon cycle at least. Look for some keys to cycle through the cockpit view, and have rear and forward external views. If you want to get even fancier, install JoyToKey and set up a key sequence to spot enemy targets.

Do a google on Aviator Guide and through in BF2 on your search criteria and you ought to find examples - but you need to have something that is comfortable for you and that uses all the buttons on your joystick.

Tip - do not map any joystick buttons to the eject (E) key.

Some of my controls may not make sense.. but they are on a Zboard which arent identical keys to a regular keyboard when mapped.. for example left bracket may actually be G on a reg keyboard.

Also I use the Space Bar for Pitch up when the mouse isnt enough for that extra pitch you need in a dogfight...

And yes.. these controls work well for me and Ive got lots of comments on the good piloting I do in a game with both jet and heli. Also I have my Aircraft Combat medal with these controls and that wasnt easy.. Yes Ive also flown with a joystick .. but in all reality the game was designed with keyboard mouse not stick.. so I gave up on the joystick after starting to mod this game and after also realizing that it was much faster than switching out and adjusting throttle settings etc.

I played tons of flight sims in the past.. but ever since BF1942.. key mouse was the way to go.. for this game at least.

personally.. lol flame on brothers.. I think stick users just like to brag it up.

I have a Extreme 3d Pro as well. I am certainly not an expert at flying, but the single thing that helped me out IMMENSELY was to set the pitch and yaw factor both up to 10, and the sensitivity to about 5. This lets you make quick turns and dives.

i also use the logitech extreme 3d pro. heres my setup and i am i very gd pilot. just change yours to this and PRACTICE. you will eventually get used to it. and the view buttons will help out to :P

when u have SENSITIVITY set to 5-10 isn't it hard to accurately fire your machine guns in a dogfight? i can barely get my target in the scope with mine set at 1.5 !

Basic Logitech 3d Pro joystick layout with some advanced settings. All the most important functions within reach of index finger or thumb, everything not used is unbound. Getting a little more advanced you'll see I have the mouse look key within thumbs reach as well, which allows me to use mouse left hand joystick right hand and get full control over my mouselook. All different camera positions on the HAT switch, either left right up or down with diagonals reserved for other functions.

What you can't see: the joystick bindings on global for comm rose and commander comm rose which allows me using the joystick/mouse configuration to quickly spot both air and ground targets and if need be request either a UAV overflight or artillery strike from a commander. It takes a while to get a handle on these more advanced functions and still maintain situational awareness and smart flying, but it eventually will happen.

Oh, and the sensitivity setting does not effect joysticks, however it does effect mouselooking speed in an airplane, which is why I have it set at 5, so I don't have to move my mouse very far to look around the cockpit and it can be done quickly.
