MYIS provided my clan with a great deal for our servers so there is nothing bad I can say about them. They bring many things to the community that we all enjoy. However, everyone at the end of their posts says "no ban pls". Im hoping that YOU are giving us enough freedom to speak as long as its in a civilized way that doesnt get out of control (edit: missed the post where you said you encouraged it, sorry). I read that all questions "will be answered shortly" but from my perspective, something is missing or being hidden. We are not business men looking for sophisticated answers, talking about copyright violations etc. we are a gaming community that wants to know the whole story and the truth. If it's true that our information is in jeopardy [which in my case, its only my xfire, email, and maybe birthdate (dont see whats the big threat)] then expain why didnt you take the security measures to protect it (I realize questions WILL be answered). I dont think people buy products directly from this site, so its not like they can steal billing info. (Not 100% sure)

I wont get into to many details but I bought a site around 10 months back through a webmaster forum. He was 17 at the time (now 18)
The site was **** back when he got it, now it does ~100$ a day.

He recently sued me to retain rights to regain his website, claiming as a minor he is unable to bind into a contract, and that the website was worth considerably more than it was sold for (it wasnt)

He won. Its not really setting me back (I still have 20 more sites with revenue) but the entire thing was shocking.
I highly reccomend that from now on, all of you guys who buy sites ask POINT BLANK in the thread if the seller is over 18. (or better yet, have DP require them to post there age in for sale threads) If he says yes, this will resolve you of any legal problems.
I realise this may be a isolated incident, but it is not impossible for it to happen again, for a much larger amount. Imagine you buy a site for 5k, and spend 6 months getting it to kick ass and do xxx$ a day, only to have the previous owner take it back, and thank you for your work. Sure you get your 5k back, but who cares at that point, the site would be worth much more.

The contract you need is the "Consent of Parent / Guardian for Minor to Enter into Contract"

I have a feeling you guys are making MUCH more of this than it actually is. GW owned this forum at one point, and at that time had access to the user database that the forum uses. Just like you guys do now.

And just like you guys used this database to email all TBF2 users informing us "GW is a hax0r we want 2 suing him!", he used the database to email everyone informing people that he has started another community that they may be interested in joining.

What's the problem here?

Yes, the confusion and propaganda out of all of this is making an amount of members rather upset. I think that a thread explaining EVERY single detail of what has happened is imperative, or frankly, alot of members will leave. I for one, will not settle for a "we can't speak of that at the moment" unless its something really private, or something that is to be decided.

We keep this running, it wouldnt seem very fair if facts are hidden from us and are substituted by lies (not saying anyone has lied).

I was thinking the exact same thing. Does that mean it was compromised sometime in the past?
