Reinstalling

I'm going to re install bf2, too many CTD and such, is there a way to save all my controls? or will i have to set them all up again, thanks

They are saved in your profile settings, when you uninstall, at the end it will prompt you if you wich to delete profile setting, screen shots and server fav's. Leave the profile settings unchecked.. (as in do NOT delete them). That way when you reinstall you can log back on to the account you have now and all the controls and everything will be the same as before the re-install.

Ok so i uninstalled, defragged computer, restarted, reinstalled bf2 and now BF2 won't even open, it goes to a black screen then goes back to desktop. So i uninstall, reboot, reinstall, same results. Is there some secret to install this game that i may have forgetten? thanks

No, I tryed to open BF2 as soon as it was installed, when it woudn't load i tryed to load the full 1.3 patch, but patching keeps failing, i've tryed 3 different sources for the patch.

After uninstalling again and loading 1.2 i get this..

Loading 1.2? Why are you using 1.2?

Do this:
BF2>SF>EF>AF>Full 1.3. Reboot if you want in between booster/xpack installs. This will help your comp "digest" the files better.
You dont need to install all of the incremental patches and what not.

Because i keep getting failed patching when i try to use 1.3 so i tryed 1.2 but nothing is working, i can't even open the game.
