bf2 freeze up upon clicking 'join game'

Please help as I have been playing bf2 for months and all of a sudden when I click 'join game' the next screen freezes , although I can see the game playing in the back ground, so infact it is not froozen, but my cursor is stuck in the middle of the screen?! I have the newest patch and euro, and special forces, all have been running with no problems. What is going on?

I had this and I just had to run the FULL 1.3 patch again and it worked

btw.. dont download the patch via EA downloader, its known to cause the crash

ya me and a 4 of my friends all used ea downloader and we all have this problem at least 3 times a night each... i dont even think you have to click join game...sometimes it happens before i do that, also we have this problem as soon as we get into a game about 10 seconds in it will shut down

same thing happens to me. ive reinstalled everything and the FULL 1.3 patch twice from 2 different sites... same thing happens every time. idk why???

i havw this problem too!!! its just started and its p*****g me right off already. Could someone get a proper resolution to this apart from get the full patch as i already have rhe full patch and guess what, every single bloody problem anyone has said about 1.3 has happened to me. My luck uh

Simplest thing to do is press the "esc" key (instead of the CTD button "join").
This will get you into the round without crashing at the start.

i have same happen occasionally. only since 1.3. i dl'ed via other sources than ea downloader though. doesn't happen often--maybe once every couple of days.

Yes this does work with my system many thanks for the Inf.
You also could lower video card settings just a bit.This seems to help too.
I think we really need a patch for the patch<G>,still a great game what ever you have to do to keep it running.
