I find myself playing USI a lot more than vanilla lately. Although I did like the idea of gaining points and working towards the goal of getting to your next unlock, I just find USI to be a lot more fun - and it's not even a completed mod. The USI A10 kick's the Armored Fury-A10's ass. I just wish more people were playing it.

I hope that rank-lovers will stay with vanilla, as that will keep the stat-hounds out of the mod servers. It'll be easier to find like-minded players once there are a bunch of mods to choose from.

PRMM is a flop. And USI has no servers.

I tried to play PRMM but it always crashed to desktop in a populated server. I could get into an empty one though it was really odd. Oh here's the fun bit I got ZERO help from their own forums. The advice I got was don't use an incramental patch which I hadn't on my new rig and so after many attempts I wiped it out and gave up.

Also I like the ranked system it gives me something to look forward to. What I'd like to see is more unlocks later or something and if the expansions are good I'll get them.. As for the futuristic BF, lame. I want to be a soldier and a lot of others feel the same why else are WW2 and realistic FPS's so popular?

We all want to be a bad a$$ and for many of us this is our outlet.
So why BF2 will live on.

We want to kick ass like on TV
We like ranks
We like earning new stuff
We like that when everything works this game rocks end of story

I really have a good time playing this game and as I am having fun now I hope to see it improve. I think I feel this way also as I don't seem to have as many problems as everyone else other than bugs and server crashes. After all I'm not a chiled and have learned a little patience. Maybe some gamers really ought to lay off the coffee and redbull.

USI and PR pwn BF2. Those are the best mods out there now.

Any freaking mod can beat Vanilla right now. Thats not hard at all, I could come up with a "Huging Each Other" mod and more people would play that!!!

I can not believe that after all the god damn wining about that the mods should be released and everything, and now that a good MOD is out, almost Noone is playing it.

Ok you that care so much about ranks...ask yourself what you earn on getting a new rank..a new useless weapon?...some lame meaningless icon next to your name that noone notices anyway?...I personally is like 500 points from 50000 (which means a new rank bla bla bla)..and now I don't give a rats ass about it because I realized you are not earning ANYTHING on it anyway...WHY THE **** DO YOU WANT RANKING!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

Thats why I joined 21cw instead of going for eye candy. heh.

Tiny, I basicaly think of it the same way which is why I go for the military RP. Social goals which are dynamic that lead towards use of certain tools or a rank are truely something to earn. But some people find n00b bashing and running about while basically playing alone around up to 60 other people fun. Who are we to dictate what (insert whatever positive or neg you want to here) find fun.

On the overall:
I just find most of the features (SLs, commander tools, lower leathality, medical/ammo spam) to be lame. Improvements for mindless pubbing. Yeah, maybe. Improvements for organized play, I think not. I'm more than a bit alienated by the franchise now.

Battlefield 2 would not exist without old Desert Combat Devs(bf1942 mod)
They left the mod to work 4 dice.

As soon as alternative ranking is working..Im sure many players go play mods like
PoE FH DC Pirates.
