Patch 1.4 is this the last?

I know yet another patch thread but ....

Will this "1.4" patch be the last for BF2? Will BF2 then follow the path of its predecessor, BFV?

Myself I feel like this may be the last patch for BF2 and it will take its position next to BFV as another EA forgotten title.

I'm interested in hearing other's view's on this.

I don't know it prolly will have some bugs in it.. I really don't know I hope they will listen to the community/players the ones that have bought their game, that play their game and the ones that eventually threw it in the garbage-can..

I think it will be the last in someway but if it will have some bugs I think (Hope actually) that they will release a hotfix of some kind.. The idea with more points for snipers/assault sounds really good imo..

The next patch will be released 1 week before the release of 2142, promoting everyone to Generals, and then crash to desktop. Everytime.

I don't think so. Only if they can't address all know bugs/exploits with 1.4, will we see another patch. I am hoping for more urban maps, as they might introduce a 'infantry_only' serversetting with 1.4

More points for snipers/assault? Haha where did that come from? This just shows how stupid this game is all about the damn points.

Why not concentrate on helping the team win? Having more points on the leader board will not show how good you are. Just because snipers get less kills they want double the points? :laugh:

EA/Dice have no validity when it comes to BF2 patches. They got involved in gameplay tweaks instead of fixing bugs. This has lead to a cluster of a game because their are just as many bugs now as their ever was.

I would of figured this to be the last patch, they are trying to get everything fixed, which is why they are giving open beta. I could only see another hotfix aka 1.41/1.42

I think its the last patch.
But DICE if your reading this...... you could make EA happier, if you can con them into allowing a decent size team to still be dedicated to BF2, by creating content, in the form of booster packs, unlock packs or whatever. As far as charging....i think 20 bucks to buy AF and EF is a bit much really. That might sound harsh, but i think 10 bucks should buy both of those packs.
Or hand over the game to a skilled mod team, and oversee it, without giving ownership of the game away. Just the work part. Im sure a mod team would jump at that chance.

1.4 will be another addition to the never-ending saga of **** patches.

Nobody knows for certain when EA/DICE will stop supporting this game. When 2142 comes out all of their attention will be focused on it. However if people refuse to buy 2142 because of all the problems associated with BF2, maybe that will have some kind of impact. You buy and/or make the move to 2142. Support for BF2 will be over. Look at 1942 and BF:V. When is the last time you've seen a patch released for those games? Granted they function alot better and have alot less problems. In short, who the hell knows....

LOL, right, who the hell knows? IMO, I think this will be the last patch for BF2. Of course, barring any huge problems in that patch, BF2 has run it's course. C'mon, what are the chances they go 0-for-10 and mess up 1.4 too? :laugh:

I, for one, will not buy 2142 because of the lack of respect, I feel, from EA/DICE regarding the patches they have made. I don't fault anyone for buying it, it's their money, their choice. Go for it. However, I will not. I just cannot personally give them my money for what I predict will be a similar trend that happens in BF2142. Add some new models, make it futuristic, new game modes, etc., and it's basically BF2 part deux. Just a prediction, but, there will be problems (as in all games) that just do not (or will not) ever be fixed...

I hope this isn't the last one. EA/DICE will probably get enormous complaints shot at them if they go out and say "this is the last, glhf guys" :).

You're talking about the whole community now, right? Well there alot of people (*cough*including me*cough*) who have never whined or posted rants about anything within BF2. We are the ones who are satisfied with BF2 as it is :).

Anyone want to join my clan "satisfied BF2 players [SB2P]" :p ?
