Hi i was just in bf2 online and i got kiked from the game because i have a higher then average ping or something what caused this?

Playing on a server far away... Your ping is the time it takes from your machine, to the server and back... So be shure to choose a server closer to you.
Everything below 120 in ping is good...

Location of server. E.g if you are in the UK and play on a NZ server, your ping will suck due to the distance.

location of server for me london servers are 8 ping and USA servers 120 ping

Stop.. all p2p, msn, and all that to get a better ping. Choose a local server, as said your ping is the time it takes for a packet to go from the server to your pc and back to the server in milliseconds. So distance (physical distance) playes a big role.

also if your using xfire, disable the auto patch downloader in it, that got me once, couldn't figure out why my connection was bad for ages!

It's not really distance, directly. Distance usually introduces more hops (routers, switches, etc.),pPhysical pieces of hardware that have to rout your request on to another computer from one location to the next. Similiar to posting a letter at your local mailbox. The letter doesn't go directly to the intended recipient, but rather through a series of post offices. Each of these hops introduces additional latency. It's very possible to have a higher ping to a computer in a city very close to you than one half way around the world, depending on how many hops there are in each case and how 'busy' those hops currently are and how 'powerful' they are in routing the traffic they have.

Not only that. It could be the internet-speed of the server you're joining too. You can have high pings on a server in your same city which is using dial-up (that doesn't happen so often, but anyways :))...
