Patching progress is freezing at "Objects_client.zip"

Hello,

Well, basically, topic says it all. I simply can't get past "Objects_client.zip" patching - my PC freezes. If I remember it well, freezing started from 1.12 patch. I've patiently waited for 1.3 patch (as 1.2 was freezing my PC, too) and now it's out, but it doesn't solve the freezing problem.

How have I tried to solve the problem:
1. Installed Battlefield 2 on non-system partition (D:\, while system partition is C:\);
2. Defragmented both partitions before the installation of the game and then one more time before the installation of the patch;
3. Closed most of the RAM consuming applications (including anti-virus) before installed the patch;
4. Even burned the patch on CD-R and tried running it from the disk to leave HDD with less tasks.

What have I missed? What else can I try to solve this problem?

I'm sure that something is wrong with the patching software EA uses, but I have no idea what. Oh, and what's the name of that patching software (I forgot it and I do not want to install BF2 again just to check it out. I will install it if someone suggest some possible solution).

I so hope to solve this problem as I haven't played BF2 for long long time and I really miss it

EDIT: Forgot one more important part - my PC specs (I'm pointing out only vital ones for the patching process):
- AMD Sempron 2400+@2800+ (2GHz) on ABIT NF7-S V2.0,
- 512MB DDR400 RAM,
- WD 80GB ATA133 HDD.

took me about 6 hours to complete object client. I patched it from 11:00 to 5:00.

So you are telling me that my PC isn't frozen, when my mouse doesn't move and HDD activity LED doesn't blink anymore? :hmm:



I have no idea how it happened, but damn - it's actually installed!
