HowieMandels, X-tra Point Loving for Snipers, Assaulters.
Re: HowieMandels, X-tra Point Loving for Snipers, Assaulters.
I'd like to see snipers get teamwork points for spotting enemies, if those enemies are destroyed within some short time, like 10 or 15 seconds.
Also, as a sniper I try to cap flags more often than I should, and of course it's very hard to fight people off at close range with that kit, so maybe a 50% bonus on solo flag capture points for snipers?
Re: HowieMandels, X-tra Point Loving for Snipers, Assaulters.
Maybe a headshot bonus for snipers? On AA there were these little messages that would pop up when you got a HS like OMFG HAXOR!!1111. I thought it was pretty funny. Just give them like an extra point and thats it. Cant think of anything for assault except something including the smoke nades, evasive cover point maybe?

Snipers- same.
Their job is to kill, nothing more. So reward them for their job.
If one class gets 3-4 points for their specialty, then all classes should.
Assault / Sniper: 3-4 points per kill
Medics: 3-4 points for heal / revive
Support: 3-4 points for giving ammo
Engy: 3-4 points per repair
Spec Ops: 3-4 points per kill / asset destroyed with C4
Pilots: 3-4 points per kill (woohoo they'll say!)
This would have to be done for balance, otherwise everyone will just play assault. I can see some very big pilot scores resulting too.

All classes should get more points rewarded for killing while on foot, and not sitting in a vehicle. Using the weapons their kit has given them should be awarded more by the game.
I believe it would be fair enough if a kill from a tank, or a kill from an bomb drop would be less rewarding.
Of course this is never going to happen, but it would give back the kits their intended use and more strenght over the battlefield.
I am a bit biased since I spend most of the time on the battlefield on foot. So please be kind :)
Making kills as pilot requires much more skill than making kills as the gunner.
On foot throwing a grenade, or pressing a detonator button requires less skill than dropping bombs accurately.
Styles of play vary a lot, not everyone in a tank will sit back and deal out as many kills as possible, even though that's what the armour is for - long range infantry support. Some, like me, will rush in with the armour, knowing certain death will come. Hoping to create enough chaos and even neutralise the flags, clearing a path for the pursuing infantry.
Each kill differs wildly in difficulty. Last night on Wake I saw a chopper high above the carrier coming straight at me at around 600m distance and so high I could just see his silhouette, I reversed up popped my smoke and put a single shot up through the smoke and destroyed it. There is no way that shot was worth less than an assault emptying a G3 into some noobs back as he spawns.
It's unecessary whining like this that led to throwing nerfs (now I can't even throw an ammo pack across an alley due to the C4 chucking nerf), blackhawk nerfing (rather than improving the other transport choppers they simply screwed the only one that was any good).

Lazza. Think about it a little. Put your mind to it. Other classes get points for KILLING aswell as speciality. Assualt only has killing, which is his speciality. So like Medics- kill + revive = 4 pts, assualt gets 2X kill bonus.

I'm not saying don't do it, but make it fair. What about players who specialise in activities for which there is no kit, like pilots, tank drivers etc?
Assault already have the best odds in a one on one confrontation. The awards and much besides have been messed with enough already. If any consistency is to be put into the points system it should be a decrease in points to 1 for support and medics special abilities, and no other changes.

Do Over...check this out.
Assault 2 kills = 4 points. Going by your method.
Engineer, 2 kills = 4 points, plus fixed a vehical, 1 point =5
Spec Ops, 2 kills = 4 points, plus one objective blown up. .. 1 point =5
You see what im saying? Every class can kill and get 2 points. However only 3 classes can do that, PLUS get xtra points. And lets not fool each other here guys, as some on this forum try to do.
MOST medics toss what? 20-50 bags down per round? Same with supply guys. Most ENGIES will ride around near tanks in a vehical for points, or simply drive by slowly arty to repair, etc. In other words.......this is great.
But still, the person recieving extra points for basically nothing, can kill just as well as the assaulter, that just got his a$$ handed to him, by the 14 claymores surrounded the flag.

Nah, I just don't buy it. Getting points for activities that benefit the team must remain consistent whoever you are...
Kill = 2 points.
Kill assist = 1 point.
Flag capture = 2 points.
Capture assist = 1 point etc.
The only way to make every class viable is reward them with a consistent scoring system and the same points others get.
I play engineer nearly all the time and usually get around 3 repair points a round, it's by no means a big earner. And getting around in a tank just makes you a bigger target, at least as assault you're not being highlighted in the hud of everything that flies, or the number 1 priority of everyone on the ground.
Re: HowieMandels, X-tra Point Loving for Snipers, Assaulters.
The assault class was perfect before the grenade launcher was super-nerfed. That was what made it a useful class. It's change was what rendered assault all but useless. So the whiners had the assault class nerfed. If they restore the GL to it's former glory in 1.4, this would not be an issue.
The GL made assault awesome, and I disagree with the whole 'noobtoob' thing the 203 gets in every game. It is supposed to be a powerful weapon, and isn;t as easy as everyone tried to make it seem. My old clan mate C4.Carnage proved that. I was good with it, but he could wipe a map clean with it.
