Punkbuster "Inadequate O/S Privilages"

ok guys i haven't played bf2 for a while...yesterday I had nothing to do so I decided I should play some to kill some time.
I installed patch 1.3 and everytime I try to join a server i get a [Punkbuster "Inadequate O/S Privilages" ] message everytime I join the server.
Whats going on!? pls help

this has been discussed before. the answer is that u need to be an admin on the computer. please use the search if u want better and faster answers in future.

There could be situations where even if you are an admin it still gives this or similar error. This can be because of adware messing up your user rights and permissions in Windows.

• Run pbsetup.exe and manually update your PB client. you first run the update on the pbsetup util, then on bf2. Get it here: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php
  
  
• If you aren't using an Windows administrator account do so.
  
  
• If you already are, scan for adware and other malware.

If none of the above works, look at the PB support page linked to above and click the Web Ticket System: http://www.evenbalance.com/troubleti...t.php?game=bf2 and ask for support at PB, tell them what you tried and so one, and give as much information on what you already have done etc.

sorry for re-posting...but I was very anxious to find out what was wrong w/ my bf2. The problem was that 'V2X virus.' I went to http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=faq-bf2.php and downloaded the v2x finder...i then used that to reset my admin privelages, and now I can play online again.
