Change resolution without getting ingame

I was using a bigger monitor that could support 1280 so I was using 1280 then switched back and now I cant use 1280, So I went into

my documents > BF2 > Profiles > 001 (my main account) > Video and it says that its at 1024 but yet I cant get into the game any ideas am I not changing it correctly?>

The settings you need to change arnt in the 001 folder, its in the default profile folder. C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default
