Yes, run by independent websites that not many people knew about, I certainly don't think many people were playing for stat's at the time.

Jolt had a stat's sytem I think, and obvioulsy BFTracks.

The way stat's are now, is a totally different kettle of fish.

It may just be me, but are there more "bad" players out there these days? I keep seeing alot of stupid stuff, like people constantly driving off in transport vehicles without teammates.

Did a lot of the good players leave the game after 1.3?

Not just like 1.3 by the time it got to like 1.2 almost all of the good players i had seen left. Now the 'good' players are armor whores and stuff like that. Anyways, welcome back ||bfa||variable

I have been playing for a year now and one of the things I've noticed in the last few months, is that players tend to camp flag points, spawns and bottle necks more, instead of working through capping flags and then moving on.
A lot more 'camping' for the kill instead of working through the map.

As for 21cw...tried it, found some of the officers are little Hitlers that have no concept of how to lead, so me and friends left. Not saying 21cw is a bad group, but I personally had a bad experience with some senior members.

well i mean the game isnt just spawn get killed by plane. maybe you should have looked for cover or moved to a lower profile spot. i mean what do you want, a guy in a plane droped a bomb on you. did you expect to still have half you health

Except for the UTAC EF server, the servers I played on last night had lots of lower ranked, and presumably newer players. It suited me, I needed an easy ride after several weeks away, and kicked arse. Good for morale.

Nothing new. That's been a day one problem, and will always be apparent as long as the BF style of play allows armour, apcs, helos and jet bombers to be used by one person, rather than a crew ie driver/gunner/commander, pilot/gunner etc.

the new squad rules definately took a toll on the game...the fact that we can't spawn on eachother to help an otherwise defunct team just makes the fact that all the "bad" players are there more obvious

...the game seems really crappy. I know you're thinking, "The patches messed it up" but I'm talking more about BF2's overall gameplay. It's really lame.

I spawned in, immediately dropped C4 on a flag and got shot in the back. Spawned elsewhere and got bombed. Spawned at the same flag, started placing C4, and got bombed again by the same pilot.

I used to be quite well versed at dealing with the ebb and flow of the battle, but having taken some time off, I'm finding myself really annoyed. It's not fun.

Flags are way too easy to cap/uncap. They don't really mean anything within the larger context of the round, other than being alternative spawn points. Gun accuracy is still really random. There's no cover. No such thing as a "frontline". It's utter chaos.

How did I manage to enjoy this game? I can't remember.

I've noticed a lot of this. I see people that seem to get adicted to the game and forget how stupid it all is. then once they leave for a while (maybe play some better games) they come back and realize again how stupid it all is. armor whores camping flags. the game spawning you right in front of a LAV or some other idiot camping a flag. a barret .50 cal that needs two shots to kill someone. spawing and only getting one step before someone in a chopper shoots you or a guy in a plane bombs you. I tried an EA game once before and it sucked. I guess they haven't learned anything. I'm going back to playing some good games like CS or UT.
