Basic Knife is KILLING ME!

I've tried every single tactic in the book. I respawn in Karkand, and try to knife people away, and get killed. I search the forums and do a few tactics, and even tried some of my own tactics such as using flashbangs and then going in for the kill, but NOTHING works. I NEED those 7 knife kills in a round, please help! :laugh:

And no Knife/Pistol servers either, that's the only trick I haven't tried.

I had me Expert Knife Badge once... then EA screwed it up. :)

Try and find a server like Karkand that is not full(like half of something) and just stay around a flag for defense and have knife ready. Most people just rush in to cap a flag without knowing who is around.

on karkand if ur mec hide behind the fence , wait for usmc through the fence and knife em. i had 11 knifes alone doing that until usmc got more flags. then after map change i got my expert.

Play sniper because the uniforms are almost identical and you can sneak in among the enemy during the insanity.

One problem I had was getting too close before striking. Keep at it and you'll find the optimal distance; it is NOT right on top of people. Once you find it, killing is easy and satisfying.

Not really (regarding busted). Once you get the basic behind you, tallying up knife kills without really focusing on it is easy. I usually get 2 to 5 a day unless I am trying for them.

For this, if you are playing all of your attempts on the same server, try a different one that plays the same maps you like. Go for a large server like a 64 player with only 16 to 20 peeps on it to make the round last long OR go for a small person map (shorter distances and area to cover) and work it as fast as you can.

Vet and Expert are just numbers. Basic is the difficult one with an in round requirement. I got mine in Stalemate as a sniper. Certain teams facing off against each other have almost identical sniper uniforms. This and the fact that you are running up to people and not shooting leads them to think you are a friendly for a split second. Remember that the closer you are to people, the less likely they can see your red name above your head. If there are a pile of enemy bodies somewhere, lay down amongst them and wait for a medic to come and start trying to revive people (don't get paddled) and stick them as he revives and moves on. Tailgating a medic can get you two or three kills.

There have been a number of knife badge-related posts on this forum.

Finding an enemy using the using the AA gun or TOW is usually good for a kill.

Like the previous poster said their medic is your friend. After you knife somebody, retreat and hide. When the medic comes to revive them, dive and knife them both. That will usually net 2 kills.

I think the most frustrating part on earning the knife badge is getting your kill before a teammate guns them down. In this respect close quarters combat is better. Use blind corners and stairwells to your advantage.

Look for enemy squads who are not paying attention to their flanks. I knifed most of a squad in Karkand who were flopped down on top of a building across from the Square. That was a good 3-4 kills right there.

Anti-tank guys love to fixate on armor. Sprint over and get a quick knife kill.

It's the only combat basic badge I'm missing!

try wake, play as sniper, hide, people run past, jab them in the back.

go squadleader, ask your commander kindly to tell you where the snipers/campers are. Stab em in the back. Rinse, repeat 5x. Done.

I'm steadily approaching my First Sargent promotion.

I don't like using my knife and find it more of a novelty then anything else, but it would be nice to get one more unlock before I abandon all badge and point goals.

Question: Is the 5 IAR during the same life span? Meaning no respawing and continuing a streak, is allowed. 5 IAR from the point at which you spawn, and before your next death, correct?

I'm begining to think it is from the posts asking about it, other wise if you just went a single game only using the knife you'd get 5 pretty easy. You'd die alot but eventually you'd get it.

IAR = In A Round.
So no it does not have to be a kill streak with the knife.
In fact I know of many people who have been rewarded their first purple heart while attempting to get that knife badge
It is easy to get if you're prepared to die a lot.
