Everybody's seen it happen - it's a classic.

Buggy driving at speed. Tank shell hits directly. Buggy drives off without a scratch.

What's even more frustrating is what happened to me the other day. I get into the MEC tank on karkand. Drive up to the hotel flag ramp, buggy comes down, guy jumps out C4 detonator in hand and blows us both up. I hate the tactic, especially when the person isn't good enough at it and kills himself in the explosion. So anyway, I respawn and get the tank again, drive to the ramp: Here he comes again in his buggy full of C4. I plough a tank shell directly into his stupid suicide buggy....no effect. He drives up gets out and kills us both again. I quit game.

I also HATE buggy bombers = but not as much as I envy their skill
I have 1200 hours in game - and cannot buggy bomb at all
we all have our strengths and weaknesses

i cant say ive ever had a problem of a tank shell going through a jeep, ive had it with the TOW's, AT's and TV's but never with a tank shell

Some people dont even bother trying to get out the way, its not that they are not "good enough" it just more of a guaranty of taking out the tank lol

Heres another possibility - the lag on your connection makes you perceive that the buggy is where you fired at, but in all actuality, it was already ahead of where you fired. Ive had this problem plenty of times, where Ive shot at a person, hit a bush next to him, and he keels over dead.

It's definitely a problem. I can nail a buggy dead on, and the buggy drives away like nothing happened. You just KNOW the guy knows he cheated death somehow.

It's just another BF2 bug. But it's not gamebreaking, so it probably won't be fixed at all.

I must say that you do feel gifted when you drive through an explosion and think like "what happened man".:shock: :shock: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
I've been on both sides of the fence with this one and think it's just another one of those BF2 things that happen.
Great when you benifit and a bummer when you don't, which is most of the time.

I still love this game. The wife is convinced I've got another women. :) :) :)

Yeah it happens quite often, especially with the SAS four man assault vehicle. Impossible to hit at a perpendicular angle, they always get away unharmed.

Don't the shells go through them like the AT missiles do? It seems that you have to hit him in a solid part, not the roll cage.

is it because it is a vodak or hummve? cause if u hit either of those with only one tank shell it doesnt kill it right away. it will start burning and the ppl have time to jump out. but if u fire the machine gun at it while fireing the cannon, it will kill it real fast

I agree. It takes more skill than you reckon. I'm praticing atm, but its difficult getting the timing right between getting out, going prone, letting the veichle roll (untouched) towards the tank, not dying, and finally pressing the button, whilst hopefully just out of range...

i have the same problem. and it really ****es me off. the vehicle will be driving at me real fast and i would shoot it. shell go right thorough. i've done it lots of times and always same result.
