Ive already spent hours in both Jagd an Colmar, and they are VERY satifying. It sets DOD:S apart from other games out there and it brings back memories of playing objective games in 1.6. Man, i would stay up all night and play dod_charlie. I hope they remake that map for source:)

Umm, I guess it'll be a few months before Valve give us a new map, but I'm really hoping for some great custom maps using the Detonation code. I think mappers will be inspired and produce some very nice maps, at least, I hope :)

The only thing DoDS is lacking now in my opinion is an open map. Something like Omaha, or a forest map, a map with space to swing a cat!

I have read and do agree one minor complaint about the new maps is that they are a bit cramped, and with 15 other teammates it becomes more important to not shoot the back of a friendly who gets in you way. A minor complaint like I said, fixed by playing on smaller servers.

You would definately like charlie then, becuae it is based off omaha beach and it uses the detination/objective setting.

BTW, there is a custom map currently ou called dod_omaha, which of course is an omaha beach map. I ahvent played it for a while becuase it gets plaegued by snipers

The guy who says :bomb planted on our equipment" and that stuff sounds an AWFUL LOT like the "terrorists win" guy from counter strike.

In addition to adding the 2 maps they made the garand fire alot faster with less recoil, and gave the bar a much faster reload time.

Yeah I've played that custom map, it's pretty good but like you say snipers rule it. Also, a German MG can get down onto the beach and murder everyone as they spawn and run out the landing craft. So yeah, not brilliant, still a nice map though.

I'm thinking more along the lines of some Call of Duty maps like Bocage and Brecourt, with open fields and trenches. Mind you this is why I'm looking forward to FOrgotton Hope, if they ever release.

I bought Dod:S thinking it would be like MoH:AA with updated graphics/features etc. Didnt realise it would be so compact and linear

Yeah it is Rico, some maps are better than others though. I think Anzio is the best for the sheer amount of routes you can take, and Flash being the worst, obviously.

lol yeah. you have a whopping 3 choices of routes to take. Which of the new maps do you guys like the most? Im like Colmar just a tad more then Jagd

I don't know which I like better yet, Jagd is really cool because it is simpler, you either defend or attack, where as Colmar you do both. That's not a bad thing though, just maybe more difficult in the tight rooms Colmar has. The falling snow is awesome though, maybe we'll get some maps set in rainy conditions now?
