I once got a server ban of punkbuster due to a winamp plug in i got off a bf2 site turned out it had been coded wrong and made punkbuster think it was a multihack .

Anyway i got in contact with PB and they did some tests and hey presto my ban was lifted so thery do understand if its a genuine mistake but a hardware ban means aimbots wallhacks and all the serious hacks..

This is for the benefit of anyone that seems to think that you can still play other PB enabled games if you get a hardware ban in BF2,

No he didn't, he violated PB's EULA.

First off, ha another "but I didnt mean to" story gets banned.

Second off, you guys are right, he will have to replace most of his hardware to play BF2 with a fresh copy again.

BUT he can still play other PB games. He violated the EA BF2 EULA, but he could still play CoD2 for instance. Of course, they have a ''global'' ban on his hardware so he would have to contact them with representation to lift the ban for other games.

Gotta love it when PB works.... Then they post the screen of them getting banned!!!

So what? My kill streak is 63 from jet whoring. HW Bans are REALLY serious and PunkBuster doesnt give em to you for no reason.

I said it caught my eye, not that it was definitve proof he was cheating.

I got that problem too, just playing them with no hack ( Im not an hacker ) and i got that. The PB guys said that he was not abble to do anything so i buyed another one but i was f***** frustrated !

It seems you're unsure what type of ban you had. I'd be willing to say you had a cd-key ban and not a hardware ban.

Blackdeath you had a GUID ban, not a hardware ban. There is a major difference between the two. With a GUID ban you can buy a new game and play again. With a hrdware ban you're basically looking at buying a new computer, as PB has never stated (and never will) exactly what parts are used for the ban (and they probabaly use the serial number from different parts for each ban). Also if you are hardware banned you can not play in any other PB enabled game (as has already been stated in this thread a few times), with a GUID ban it only affects the game you were banned in.

P.S. Hope you learned your lesson after paying for a new copy of BF2.

Not that I believe him, but I looked at his stats, the only thing that caught my eye was a 54 kill streak.

u cheated in aa well dumb luck for u cuz thats the worste game to cheat in!
pbSS is used WAY more esp by admins! so... yeah ur ****ed in all pb games!
go play source or soemthing since its full of hackers anyway! youll fit right in!

I looked at that yesterday and couldn't find anything incriminating. The kill streak could have been done from a jet which is very plausible. With those stats, it leads me to believe that he was caught very early into his hacking days.

edit- Since he has already admitted to cheating in both AA and this game, i have no doubt he would try again. Hopefully he paid a lot of money for whatever hack he was trying..

I think there's more to this than the OP is letting on to. We've seen people getting caught cheating and all that happens is stats get wiped. This is the first hardware ban i've seen which leads me to believe he was using more than a red dot cheat.

But I am sure you can email customer support or contact them somehow. I have worked with them before and they are really good with their customer service
