We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.

Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
games are single threaded applictions - in fact there is hardly anything available at the moment that will benefit from a dual core processor, other than compiling and heavy duty video encoding
No.. everything takes advantage of having 2 cores. Even BF2. WHile BF2 may only be running on one core, you have all the background applications that need to be run, TS if you are using it, anti-virus, iTunes, etc etc... These can all runon the 2nd processor. So if you had a single cofre machine, that one core woul dhave to try and run everything. This puts a lot of strain on it, and normally cant be done wthout taking a bit of a performance hit. If you have 2 mroe more though, one can run the main application (BF2 or other) while the other core(s) can run any other application that needs to be run. So not only does this mean that the game has a whole core to itself, but it means you can run other applications without taking a performance hit at all (thats assuning you have enough RAM). There are definate advantages to having duel core/Coe Duo. And dont just think for gaming, but for rendering, and general OS functioning its faster, as the OS takes advantage of both cores, not just one. For example, on my old pc (it had a 3000+ AMD) if i was doing a virus scan, it would lag a lot if i tried to also browse the web or go on msn. But on this machine i can run Norton anti-virus scan, and adaware scan and browse the web and be on msn, and there is no lag at all. its great!
No its not right, I don't know what scott111 has done but I have no problems at all with duel core, there are a couple of games that have to be played on one core but BF2 works perfectly well with both cores selected.
edit: you should also note, that even though you may have to have a program use only one core, your operating system and other programs are using both cores so your still getting the most from your CPU
Please....this is a NON-MISINFORMATION thread. I didn't say everyone will have studdering if they run BF2 with duel core enabled. I said I had that problem. Please don't lead people to believe BF2 will play faster on duel core because it won't. BF2 will run a single core...period.
I use duel core but I always turn off one core. If I leave both on I get this annoying studder while playing. Before anyone says anything; I've done the MS hotfix and it still does it through two different computer builds. Bottom line; BF2 is not programmed to take advantage of duel core.
Agree. BF2 is not designed to take advantage of D setups. and BF2 wasn't designed to take advange of SLI or xfire as well but most people is able to bf2 on it, and few people can play it on D proc both enabled. If it happens to work on your D systems, then great for you. if not, then just play with one proc enable, and hope that BF2142 supports both SLI/xfire and Dual-cores.
