I've done and tried everything. I've searched every BF2 forum possible and still cannot find a fix for this. I load in 20~ seconds. Verify takes upwards of 2 minutes.
Things I have tried:
Reformatting/installing onto Windows 2000 professional (Actually load times were lowered by about 5 seconds, verfiy still took 2 minutes)
Reformatting/installing onto a fresh Windows XP SP2 Professional, with no other software installed other than drivers.
Ive tried reinstalling then patching in order
Ive tried reinstalling then patching to full with 1.3 full patch
I've defragmented every night.
I have no spyware or viruses.
System specs are as follows:
2.7Ghz CPU
1GB DDR ram. 400FSB.
7200 RPM hard drive.
Ati Radeon 9800 pro.
Nothing on my system is overclocked. I typically get 45-70FPS.
My computer was recently, and painstakingly cleaned to remove all dust.
My hard drive is NOT in PIO mode. It is currently in UDMA-6. I am using the correct IDE cable. All my drivers are up to date from all vendors including motherboard. I have no hardware conflicts. I've tried programs like WinXP smoker, which is a great tweaker i might say.
I really can't think of anything else. Please do not bother with "Get more ram" Because while Loading my ram is not fully utilizied. Posts in regard to my hardware not being good enough will be ignored as its untrue. Thanks!
