I tried installing SF over BF2 then re-installing the 1.3 full patch, and the game didnt work. So i just un-installed everything. So far i have installed BF2 with NO patches. I keep trying to install SF but it just stays at the 1.1 patch and doesnt ever say to insert disc two. I actually left and came back about 30-40 mins later, and it was still there. I have tried instaling this about 5 times now, and it either stays at 1.1 or my computer freezes when i try to do anything to it. GRR.

Do you have the full 1.3 patch? I'd install BF2, patch it to 1.3, then install SF and before you run the patch again, see if the game will play with no problems. Lastly, run the patch one more time and you should be good to go, though I would also recommend to be safe do a restart on your computer after installing BF2 and once more after installing SF. -

Im still having problems installing. Maybe i should download the 1.1 patch, install it on BF2 then try installing SF. That way it wont have to patch it to 1.1 ???Comment

Ok, i installed BF2, restarted, installed 1.3, restarted, played BF2 for a while. Then tried installing SF. It seemed frozen for a while, so i went and watched TV for an hour came back, click around since it was frozen, then it finally continued installing. It told me to put disc 2 in, so i put it in, waited for it to spin up and it froze again. I went back to the tv just in case it would unfreeze, but it never did. I just restarted again, and i dont know what to do since this crap keeps freezing during install. I have no problems with BF2 or its install. And my system can more than handle it.

I just finished Installing SF, it finally worked. Im installing the 1.3 patch again right now. Is this all i have to do? Will it be playable right after the patch finishes? or will i still get the shader error.Comment

Is your SF install disk scratched up at all?
Make sure that if you uninstall BF2 again, go into the Program Files folder and delete any references to BF2 as well.

1. BF2
2. BF2 Special Forces Pack (Patches to 1.1 as it installs)
3. Euro Exp Pack
4. Amoured Fury Exp Pack
5. 1.3 Full Patch
If you dont have any of the other exp packs you should be able to patch after step 2, thus updating everything to the current 1.3 spec.Comment
