  • Mouserate Switcher. Pros/Cons with BF2?

    Hi there!

I'm thinking about installing and using the USB Mouserate Switcher found here.
Now I would like to know what the benefits are from higher mouserate, both ingame and just using the mouse. Is there a risk that I damage the mouse itself/the USB ports?

Isnt that the same basic concept of the MX518 and G5? I question its effectiveness vs those mice though.

      MX518 is sweet!

If I want to snipe, I just press one button and I get perfect aim, sort of.

But if I wouldn't like to get the mouse right now, and I would like to get the mouserate switcher, can you please help me decide wether I should use it or not?

Well it wouldn't hurt to try it if its free? I like it, better if you want to snipe or long range shot. I hope it does the same as my mouse, if it does you will love it.

Well there have been cases when setting USB rate to 1000mhz , people have screw up their motherboards or mouses. But that is rare case.I run mine at 1000mhz 24/7 for a long time now. It just gives you a better aiming, mouse is more sensitive .

My Razer Copperhead has this feature built in. I can change between different polling rates, as well as switching dpi-sensitivity on-the-fly.
I really don't know if a third-party program changing your mous's polling rate or sensitivity might screw up the mouse.

Is it safer to just use 500MhZ instead of 1000?

Well generally i think running 1000 is safe. SO go for it. 1000mhz=1ms respond time on screen .

Will it work with a MX510 mouse?

if you have any USB devices test them before deciding to stick with the new USB rate. I changed my USB rate (the old fashioned way by hex editing usbport.sys file). At 500Mhz my USB mic totally flakes out. Then I got a USB keyboard that doesn't work at 250Mhz..

So make so you test everything.
