well if u reinstalled the OS and all that then it must be drivers for something. There must be an error with some of the drivers that your installing because if it were a corrupt BF2 file then the format would get rid of it. If you have the latest drivers, try a rollback driver(isntall a driver that is a little older) and see what happens. If that doesnt work it might be something to do with the BF2 patch that your installing or something.... thats the best i can help you with man, sorry its not much but at least i tried :-D

Well i've decided that im going to start formatting both my drives, reinstall windows, and freshly install my drivers. And if that doesn't change anything then i don't know what to do. That will narrow it down to hard ware issues though.

    Ok, so I ran 3dMark06.
When it began it was only running at 6-22 FPS which i thought was odd, what with my specs, and about 2 or 3 minutes in it crashes. Now im no expert but I would think that that would lead to my video card being the culprit. But im not going to go out and buy a knew until I get some feedback.

    So, thanks in advance.

I did a memtest and it didn;t detect any errors, so i guess its not my RAM. Im clueless as to what it can be.

I beleive the numbers aren't really always showing what you want them to show, they usually show numbers lower that 1.3 for ex.

Well the problem is back in full swing. The thing is I attempted in reinstall the patch but I notcied te number in the bottom left opf the screen didn't seem right(1.1.2876, or something). So anyway after I tried installing the patch again after it completed is when the problem started again this time it crashes even when I get to the profile select screen.

i had the same problem. i would play 1 or 2 hours and then the sound would jam and the screen would go black. a crtl+alt+delete would make it blue, and in the end it would just restart. i tried everything you did and the problem was still there. my computer was in kind of wooden desk (dont know the propper english word) and the heat that came out was rediculous. i ended up buying a good-looking computer (which i wouldnt have to hide) anf put it on my desk with a fan next to it. the fan is now gone and it works perfectly. so heat was my problem, but since you already checked that.... i dont know what i´t can be.

Yes I have but still no progress.

Update: Heres some good news, when I login to BF2 and start a singleplayer game it loads the map to around...82%(at one point reaching 100%) and then crashes to desktop. No lock ups, no sound glitches.
