Medal went to a nonplayer???

I'm playing on FMJ or TBK, not sure which. I've got the G36E and its 64 player Kark, so I end up with a nice score--3rd on the board. But at the wrap up screen I see a little 4 by my name. And there is no player listed with a 3. So I go to the medal page, and they give the bronze to a player that wasn't even in the game! Wtf??

I don't really care about the medal or the stats, but come on now. That ever happen to anyone? And is there a legit reason?

They had a higher score than you and got disconnected. That or they were a commander and you didn't notice their name at the bottom.

Are you sure it wasn't the commander. The commander score is seperate on the final scores page...

Well...you can actualy get disconnected and still got a medal...I got a gold once like that

Yes, I have seen a player that got banned during a round end up with a gold medal. Go figure. Here is the door, dont let the gold medal hit you on the way out.

My BF2 crashed while I was having a good score. I rushed back into BF2 and into the server again, it kept my points for me !

Thanks, guess I should have known this having played for so long. No, I didn't check the commander's score because all that guy did, at least what I could see, was drop vods on people and TK with artillery.

But if it was the commander, does he get the times two point bonus before they give the medals? If he does, that doesn't seem right. I could be commander, get in a tank/apc, kill some peeps, then get out and be medic and revive a few more and insta gold. And does he get points for RT kills?

Is that how it works?

No. Medals for commanders are before the x2.

no commander points dont work like that, as commander you get a average of you teams score then x2 then your total points are considered for places

Commander don't earn points with killing/reviving/healing/capturing flags/etc. They only earn points based on the average team score. It's a bit more complicated than that but that's the basic idea. So no, you can't go revive people then get x2 from that.

After the commander points is x2, then it gets checked for medals. Frequently commanders will get the bronze medal. If the game is lopsided, like the top two players score all the points while the rest of the team underperforms, the commander won't get a medal.

Commander score is high only if the team as a whole scores high.

hey, i got more silver then gold and bronze. gold always goes to the commander. bronze when im a bit more sucky that round. silver when im playing jus fine. :)
