Dell E1705 Problems

Hi i just purchased this laptop and im having problems getting BF2 to run. Basically it never gets past here:



Ive opened all the ports necessary on both my router's firewall and my computers firewall. One random time it did run though but im not sure why. Its ran on my PC and this Laptop is a lot more powerful than my PC. Some specs are:

Intel Core DuoProcessorT2400 (1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)
1 GB DDR2 Ram
256MB Nvidia GeForce Go 7800

sounds like a problem setting the correct vid res or something. try specifying your exact screen res in your bf2 shortcut. instructions here

Problem fixed. For anyone with the same laptop and problem heres the fix. The firmware on the cd drive needs to be updated if you have the 8x DVD drive in yours. Heres the link:
