Who thinks EA should add submarines into battlefield 2? They could add whole new concepts to the bf2 maps. I don't know how they would add them but maybe through Battlefield 3 (lol) or a patch.

The only map where it might work though would be wake...other maps subs just...wouldn't work well. I think honesltly there should be some small ships or just plain other boats besides the RIB.

I was always given the impression that there was subs on 1942, but I could never find them if there was!

subs would be invincible to air attack, b think of the bugs! i think small battleships would be better. new bf2 expansion - ships ,full of seamen :P

Ahh, the good ol' days of BF sea battles - bring it back!!!

DC added flyable cruise missiles, that you could launch from under the water line - very cool, although they only had a limited range iirc.

Subs were ace though, but there were planes and choppers that could take them out with torpedoes, the latter was a black hawk thing in DC.

Ooh, and the smaller ships had depth charges, so the subs weren’t invincible – they also showed on radar… I think lol.

Yea, the Sea battles were great,...I miss the big guns pounding the shore line. The tomahawks in DC were great,....I loved runnig for a life boat when the ships were sinking. Although it did suck when you lost your carrier.

I think those hand held underwater vehicles could be quite handy - think of that scene in The Rock, especially for creeping up on Wake Island and avoiding the wholesale J-10 bumming session that map often descends to when more than 20 people are in the server.

Subs and ships would make excellent additions, possibly jet skis as well (not sure if any special ops or espionage units would actually use jet skis or if this is just a 007 illusion).

Do you suppose asking for surfboards would be going to far?

edit: The one-man sub (I think it's called a "submersible" no?) would also be a great idea, perhaps it could introduce a "diver" (not sure what the military equivilent is) class as well, harpoon gun, waterproof pistol, depth charges, short range personal radar, knife)
