    Sniper vs Spec-Ops

Okay I have ready multiple post about Spec-Ops and the UAV. They all say that if you are Spec-Ops and you don't move the scan and the UAV cannot see you. If this is true then the Sniper class should have the same thing. It is the only class that has camo. You should beable to blend right in with the rest of the terrain with that camo and a UAV or SCAN should not detect you at all unless you move. Who else feels the same way?

Actually, everyone has camo. The sniper wears a ghilly if that's what you're refering to.

that's a pretty nifty thing... and though I'd love it if the sniper could hide from scans and UAVs I don't know if it would be very fair...

I think it would be fair. All it would take is some common sense to find where the sniper is. They only get 1 shot with most rifles and then lose sight of the enemy to load the next round in the chamber.

scans yes ,uav no. Otherwise everyone would be looking for 1 sniper across the entire map with 100 tickets left it could be very boring to wait...

I agree. Hiding from scans would be nice, hiding from UAV would be pointless since a UAV only gets a limited radius anyway. As a sniper I'm automatically hidden from something like 80% of UAVs anyway simply because of distance.

You can't hide from the UAV that's for sure, whether your still or not.
I think you need to resource your information because that statement is wrong.

Well I might be wrong I was just stating what I have read on forums. I have never said that I have seen it in game. I do agree with the UAV though. UAV's would be pointless but if you could be hidden from the scan that would be really nice.

may be there should be a time window where you can be picked up or not picked up on uav..... if you are a sniper and uav is over you position BUT!!! you are not shooting it wont pick you up. but if you are siting there with the svd, taking 5 shots a sec:ar15: :ar15: drawing attention to yourself it will

http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66603 - Read WarGimp's posts...and the manual, as he says. There's more threads, but I'm not going to post a bunch... search works the same for you as it does for me.

Spec Ops are invisible if they don't move. But you never know when a scan is coming, so it's effectively rendered useless.

If snipers didn't get picked up by the UAV or scan when still, then I think there would be a ton of snipers just parked all over the map trying to get tons of kills. So would firing and reloading count as moving? I'd say yes. But, as with the Spec. Ops., you can't predict scans or UAVs so it's kind of a useless characteristic. Obviously, you can look up and see the UAV, but then sitting still and not doing anything for 30 seconds is just pointless as well.

Slugfly pretty much says the same thing. Snipers are already hidden from most UAVs anyways.

How about a UAV 'mis-read' like the first swipe passes over you, but then the second and third pick you up, the fourth misses.

Wait... that would mess with my mind. Forget it.
