We get ****ty gunners/pilots all the time. Whenever we give them a chance, they end up dying/crashing in the first couple seconds, or they do nothing the whole round. I don't even care anymore. So many people suck so bad it isn't even funny.

A good way to go by it.. is rank.

Normally the lowest rank I see that can be good in the chopper, is gunnery sgt. (the one after first sgt? I'm not sure if thats the name, but it is the rank under the 20k one.)

Actually anything under first sgt. is pushing it.

Privates, you can't really tell.. because it could be a different account, or ... they're really a private... which doesn't take too long to realise :p

Single player exists for a reason. I myself spent about 2 hours today on a 64man LAN game on Daqing.. practising my jet, helo and tank skills.

In this dog-eat-dog game, if someone gets in your way, kill them. It's that simple. Friend or foe, the choice is yours which you target.

I hear ya, man. I've got a few more kills to make to get my main account to 2:1 global. Once I've done that, I'm turning evil: that is, no more gunners unless I know for damn sure they're good. What does this mean ? It means that if I must TK the entire carrier to have it alone, I will. I've just done one of the most frustrating nights of my life and I'm taking the necessary steps to ensure it never happens again...

[sarcasm]I love lining my gunner up on a practically stationary helo for 10 seconds, only to have him stare at the incoming TV missile that, despite my last-second acrobatics, hits us and allows the opposite team to gain the momentum. F*ck yeah![/sarcasm]

I don't really judge by ranks, but the best gunner I've had was a Major. But yeah I died so much before, for instance I was gunner and had a unknown pilot, what does he do? flys as low as possible so I can't hit **** with the tv missile, then he flys into the uncapable, yes what a dumbass and either hits the trees or shot down by the IGLA. Constantly get this, and if someone hops in as my gunner and I know they suck or I don't know them, I usually give them a chance but sometimes don't bother as im sick of the noobs who don't have a clue, so I either say 'bail out' and if they don't I'll just get out myself and wait till they die which is soon enough lol.

Im not being selfish though, First round on Smoke Screen our team loose since more then half the team sit at the heli spawn, so I didn't get a chopper that round. So next round the MEC were winning again I was lucky enough to get the chopper for myself, so I solo'd and took out 2 choppers at out base and like 6 tanks, defending the flags and letting out infantry through and we won. Same happened when I actually had the gunner who is the best gunner I've had imo, dominated the map. I mean I see people at the top of the leaderboard for heli, I have seen one or two of them in Sharqi just as gunner raping away at the radio station with the MEC canon, imo that isn't skill, so I wouldn't go by the leaderboards at all.

Met I know your good in Jets from seeing your videos etc, but your not arrogant, im not arrogant either and I don't mind arrogance if its backed up.

Although I hate people TKing for a vehicle, Im going to swallow my pride and say "i understand you perfectly". Jesus... whats the rate of good gunners Ive had? 1:50? 1:100? The gunners where I had to do a lot of work to get them score and do something- 1:10? 1:20? Gunners who were newbies but learned in a matter of minutes (my favourite kind, since Im no pro myself)- another rare kind.

Somehow you never get enough of those gunners that-
              1) Open fire on an APC or a tank with the cannon (Pay attention- it takes 100 rounds to down an APC, 200 for a tank)
              2) They fire their TVGM into the sea
              3) They hunt ground troops with TVGM and miss
              4) They shoot around with the cannon, everywhere, as if they were experimenting
              5) They tell you you suck after youve done everything you could to sidestrafet behind trees, do 2 loops and 3 rolls, get back to lining up a TV shot, while they open cannon fire, and you just think "fvck it" and crash the helo...

              I love solo flight.

this game is getting boring. i find myself going in servers to just mess with people. my favorite is the flashing of the teammates. its hella funny, cool, and awesome to flash helos on take off and watch them spin out of control and wreck. sharqui in particular is my favorite flash a thon map.

                    Re: Chopper gunner.

Thing is my flying a heli to gunning ratio is like 250+hrs to 20hrs. I have always flown and people want me to fly. I know exactly how to line someone up and stay steady so they get a good shot.

Gunning for me has been difficult. My mouse MX700 is uber sensitive and until tonight I hadn't been able to solve that problem. So the crosshair would jump all over the screen making it very difficult to hit anything. I would average before like 3/10 hits, tonight I hit atleast 9/10.

Thanks to whoever posted up recently where to change the sensitivity for the gunner in land controls.

I had the land control setting up high to help spin the tank turret fast but my gunning was near impossible. Now I've lowered it way down, gunning is a breeze. I can't believe the difference. Its even like the missile has slowed down because my crosshair is not jumping all over the screen and it requires less corrections. So I literally improved a 1000% with that sensitivity change.

Here's a vid of me flying and my trusty gunner <<R2>>DGuy owning it up on our server on Dalian Plant. Made by <<R2>>DGuy as a gunner vid. Maybe some crappy gunners may learn something from it about leading shots etc.

yep flashing is hella fun. just get a friend to go with you, one goes support and the other assault and follow big groups around and just flash the **** out of them. me and my buddy do this and its hella funny. we start squads and we have ppl talking **** to us telling us to stop it or theyre gonna kill us or rape our moms and what not. on infantry maps flashing the commander is hella fun cause he cant command or enter the command screen when flashed. they always try to run away but to no avail, we just follow and flash, and he cant command cause A. his screen is all flashed up, or B. hes running away from us trying to avoid being flashed. and then they start kick votes or start snitching on us for messing with him and the admins never do anything cause its not like we're tk'ing or anything. on air maps, nothing is better than flashing the helo and watching it wreck either in the water on maps with the carrier or against a tree, wall, post...etc on other air maps.

I used to do that.. but then people started to get banned for it.

A lesson learnt from other people's mistakes, and very quickly too.

Heheh I tk madd people ;D I don't want to sound selfish or anything but basically whatever team I'm on is going to be the winning team... no doubt about that. If Mikey or Metallica and I get the chopper first off the carrier, it’s a wrap. I'll basically lead the charge the whole way and clear everything out so our guys can make it to land…. unless we get rammed by some bad jet pilot. So think of it as an investment, if you let Metallica and I get the chopper, then you’ll be guaranteed a win unless you guys decided to not take any flags for some reason… or if the j-10’s whore it up like they usually do. There’s really nothing anyone can do about that except maybe I can try to take them out of the air but to this day I’ve only gotten one. Their thin profile is insanely small and the shot has to basically be all luck. But I can fuk up the airfield for yah =) (btw I’m talking about Wake)

Sacramento, yah I remember you. I recorder a lot of good stuff last night, I took down a few jets and basically wouldn’t let much leave the carrier ;D This guy called SourceLimit was sooooo weird, remember him>?
