just got mine today . play on a knife pistol server only its easy there.

dito just look for pistol and knife servers and ur ok plus a good amount of points if ur a medic around like 230

I got my basic and Vet on Sharqui. Butt-load of snipers on the TV tower, so i just mosey'ed on up the stairs and slash-slash-slash-slash'ed away. 4 didnt see me coming, one dude spawned as I was up there, but he thought he'd play nice and go knife-to-knife with me. I declined his offer, whipped out the DAO-12 and blew him away. Went back to knifing the snipers who spawned. They had no idea, nor cared that I was up there. Yeah, the same guy I DAO'd came back and whacked me pretty good, but I'll take an easy 5-6 kills there again.

well i got expert pistol/knife the legit way. Pistol reaaaally isn't hard to get. Just play as a sniper on wake or some other vast map with open areas, and just snipe people once and finish them with 1 or 2 shots from your sidearm.

As for the knife badge - I got mine on Karkand, there are a load of places to hide and if you are nimble you can get whole squads at a time.

If you're having that much of a hard time just join a less populated server - although you really shouldn't have to since I found that in the fuller ones people that pay less attention to individual troops. That way they dont pay attention to a single guy running around not firing at them and you can casually walk up to them and plant your blade in their faces.

I got my basic knife on Fushe Pass mostly around the West Mine entrance. I made a vid out of it too, that might help you out a bit.

Only if you want to get your stats erased by EA / GameSpy. In other words not a good idea.

The easiest and really only way to get it is go on a Strike at Karkand server and kill, kill, kill! :)

I don't think the thread needs to be locked... I think you guys outta be giving this noob better information.

I think he understands the P/K servers are a bad thing... how about giving him some tips?

Me, I'm an opportunist. I like watching someone walk past then set him up for a session of face stabbing. I try to never pull my knife until I'm ready to use it.

A have a buddy that's a damned ninja tho. I've seen him bliz through a squad only holding his knife. He likes corners and closed spaces. He jumps and sprints alot. He makes a lot of people angry. He also get's loads of knife kills.

Figure out what works best for you and go with it.

Just thought i'd share the ROEs with all the people saying use knife/pistol servers:

§1.8 Players may not use or exploit game mechanisms to artificially boost their score ("stats padding") and Server administrators may not knowingly allow or encourage this activity on their servers.

This would include but not limited to:
§ Knife-Pistol-Revive
§ Knife-Pistol only Servers
§ Knife only Servers
§ High Points Servers
§ Infantry only Servers
§ No Artillery or Armour Servers
§ Using Vehicles removed from battlefield for purposes of artificially inflating points
§ Turning boats upside down and repairing
§ Glitching inside buildings.
§ Modifying game files for vehicles and weapons.
§ Items not included in this list would be up to EA & DICE to interpret.
§1.9 Players may not Impersonate or abuse BF2RS ADMINS.

In other words it can get your CD key banned so don't do it. Do it how its supposed to be done. I did it playing sniper on Wake and hiding in bushes, waiting for people to run past then jabbing them in the back.
