just got mine today . play on a knife pistol server only its easy there.

I thought EA were banning any servers running Knife and Pistol only as it was classed as stats padding?

The pistol badge is more managable now that they reduced the req. KIR. If you play any amount of Sniper, AT, or Eng you will get rather well aquanted with your old sidearm. And if you take the time to earn this badge on a normal server you will reap the benefits of that practice more often IMO.

Pistol/Knife servers, you just whip out your pistol straight away and start spamming, the only way you won't get 7 kills is if:

A) You really suck.
B) Some tards refuse to follow the rules and drives the tank up on you.

Knife badge on the other hand...

Pistol/Knife servers all the way. Too much trouble for too little benefit. The only time you're likely to use your knife in normal play is when you're coming up behind a prone unsuspecting oponent and if you aren't sure you can knife them still, then go prone and unload into them on full auto.

I wouldn't take this advice.

K&P servers are against the ROE.
One of the players in the top ten priviously was reset because he played in a K&P server, so by no means don't think it can't happen to you either.

But use the search feature, there are literally several hundred of these threads that have pages and pages and pages of info. More then I could type in this single sitting. Be patient though..my best advice. Because, once you get it, you will realize it was not as bad as say, getting the Expert. Hell, I don't know how hard it is now with the new req.

Again, be patient when going for it. Starting out is taxing first time around.

i thought this thread was for giving tips to ppl who want to earn it honestly, without resorting to high-point servers, or knife/pistol servers.....

i have earned my basic, veteran, and expert knife on 24/7 karkand servers.....with about 32-46 players, sized 64 map.....

here are some tips that ive learned on my own on the field:

**join a squad thats always at the front line..........you will die alot, so this will be most helpful...

**be medic......you may also accumulate heal and revive points, as well as giving you ability to self heal....dont throw med packs to yourself, it will blow your cover, just hold the pack out, aalso you will be able to revive your squadleader when necessary.....this class gives you alot of sprint, which is vital

**use everything for cover.....that means bushes, little curb-stones, corners, trees, etc.....this is invaluable, and will keep you alive long enough for your enemy to either get close enough, or turn their backs....

**pay close attention to your sprint meter.....dont sprint unless you are going for a kill, or running for cover

** use evasive maneuvering.......when i go for a kill, and the enemy sees me, i will zig-zag like a mad man, while jumping every few steps....dont jump too much or you will be out of sprint....jump 2-3 times max...making your last jump one to your opponents side, or rear, then go prone and stab....also crouch is about as effective as prone

**bind your knife to an easy to reach key......i did this, now as force of habit, i instantly take out my knife whenever i spawn :laugh: also it would be easier for when using the paddles/medpacks

thas all i can think of off the top of my head.....knifing is something i absolutely love, and have spent a couple of months using it exclusivly (aside from medpacks and shock paddles)....in fact, i have an account used primarily for knifing ( http://bf2s.com/player/67425833/ )

as many times as i see knife threads i get excited.....i love the knife.....its my favorite weapon...

i got mine before they lowered the requirements

How to get your basic knife, legit...

1) Drink a Bawls. Or 2 Mountain Dews. Or 4 Cokes.
2) Put "Bodies" and "Tear Away" by Drowning Pool on repeat.
3) Go as a Medic. Best is MEC medic.
4) Map two buttons on your mouse. One to Med Pack, the other to knife.
5) Keep your knife out and go absolutely berserk.

Accept the fact that you're going to die a lot. Unless you're very lucky, it'll take about 7 rounds of a half-full Karkand 64-man server to get it. First, you'll get 2 kills IAR, then 3, then 5, then 5 again, then 4, then none, you'll hit rock bottom, and then you'll finally hit 7 in miraculous blaze of inspiration, after you drink 2 more Bawls.

Do it legit. Don't stoop to a K&P server. It's much better when it's for real.

i created an account to use on knife pistol servers.....because they sound like fun, and there are no unranked servers......and i dont want to taint my honest stats with obvious padding...i expect this account to get reset as many times as EA wishes to waste its resources doing so, because this account is not for stats, its for the fun of the knife/pistol servers.......

earning my expert badge legitematly and continuing legitemately using exclusively the knife has given me the skills to enter those knife/pistol servers half-way-through the round, and get more kills than anyone else in a relatively short time, and get the gold.....using only the knife, and shock paddles.....so if you want to earn your award, then do it legit, because you get a second award (skills).....but if you go to a knife/pistol server, u'll get ur stats reset, and u'll still suck with the knife, and prolly the pistol too

Seven rounds of nothing but knife? Sounds like a lot of strife with a weapon that is tactically insignificant. Oh well.

God, that is so true. People don't understand the deepness of that logic either. When you are forced to accomplish a hard task, and come through it, the task because easier everytime.

I know I could get my Expert Knife without breaking a sweat now that I have gotten it. There have been plenty of times that I have gotten ****ed at something and just go all out with my knife for 5 minutes and end up with 8 kills and 1 death...before our team takes their first flag!

Basic pistol just surprised me playing as Sniper on Wake. :lol:

I'm not trying for basic knife just yet.
